my christmas miracle

I wrote this email to my friends, and instead of trying to re-write it, I figured I''d paste it to share my miracle.

Dan is my bf of 2 years..

Hey everyone,
as some of you may have heard, and for those who haven''t I figured I''d make a foward type email to explain everything so you would know what happened etc..

Friday,Dan was in a serious car accident (he is okay though-well kinda)
dan was moving into a new house(him and his mom had to sell the house..etc etc, and bought a new one.. friday was the big moving day.)
Anyways, while Dan was driving from the old house to the new house(probably 5 miles away) he was driving on a bend (on the road), a dog jumped in front of his car. His first reaction was to try and avoid the dog, while doing this he ended up going off the road..
His car went in the ditch, and rolled one and a half time..
To say the lease, his brand new car is completely written off..

When this whole thing happened, I was working .. Dan called me after it happened so I could go get him... he seemed okay, but a bit upset over the car(with reason of course, but he didn''t seem to be in any pain.. anyways to say the lease...he was in shock..
I got there and the car was a disaster.. I don''t understand how he even lived to be honest... the roof was so low(and dan is SO tall) that I cant believe he survived..

The ambulance drove him to the hospital,
we were in the trauma room (where most car accident patient go).. anyways, dan was complaining of a neck pain...we figured it would be a sprain..
LOng story short..
his neck is broken.. DONT worry too much.. although it is a serious serious injury and Dan is in a great deal of pain, HE IS alive, and HE CAN walk... so for that, I believe a miracle happened..

Anyways, I figured I''d let you guys know what happened because you all care for him, and so on..

So he''ll be off work for a month or so(were not exactly sure), as for the car.. well we have no idea what will happen with all that.. but im sooooo happy dan lived.
He came really really close to hitting a pole and had he have hit the pole, he would have died..
its all very tragic. Also in the span of all this, Dan was bringing his cat to the new house.. so when the window broke and the car stopped moving, the cat jumped out.. we havent found him yet

but hope to soon.

The doctor, paramedic, neuro-sergent.. everyone couldnt believe how lucky he was.. if you guys could see the car.. you''d also understand... (the car was actually at macdonald pontiac just in the parking lot) the blue wave.. it may still be there...

ANyways that is all! Maybe if it is possible, you guys could send dan a "get well soon" type email, I think it may help make him feel better (he''s been kinda sad lately)...

I know it sounds bad, but I guess all I can think about is how much worst it could have been.

well, dan is a very restless type.. he should be resting and instead he is unpacking(at a slower pace but STILL) he is funny.
I feel truly blessed.. now if only we could find the cat, and it would be perfect!

I do randomly start crying though lately, because I realize how close I was to losing him.. but it turned out "okay".

Wow, SS, that is a very scary story. So glad to hear Dan is on his way to recovery--hope it''s a speedy one.

OMG - he broke his NECK and is still walking around and is able to talk about it....talk about a Christmas miracle for SURE. That is something to be very thankful about. Material things come and go...it is upsetting to have a new car totalled (it''s happened to me) but you only get one life around here and thank goodness he will make a full recovery! That is definitely a Christmas miracle.

haha, FireGoddess your reaction has been the most typical...
When we are walking and people ask what happened etc, and we then proceed to say "he broke his neck" it''s like their eyes pop out of their head(because he can in fact walk, etc)..
he is oneee lucky person.

I will call it my christmas gift from "above"

Bless you both. Thank God he will be ok. It truly is a miracle, it just brings home what is really important especially this time of year. Best wishes to you both, take it easy Dan and I really hope you find the cat, try near to where the accident happened and put posters up wherever you can, plus ads in pet stores etc and in local papers. Also don''t forget to check the shelters, someone may have found the cat and it might be there. Good luck.
