My cat scratched my loupe
!
I wake up and dump everything in the US as usual. I run it twice, blow dry everything, and go to my draw to get my loupe - the draw''s open. And the loupe (along with half the other stuff in there) is gone.
Ten minutes of frantic searching later I find the thing - and it''s open, too. Fine, I''ll kill the cat later. I open a window and sit down with my e-ring and put the loupe up to my eye - and there''s a GIGANTIC scratch across the table! ALL THE WAY ACROSS, extending down the sides of the crown...
I could feel my heart thumping faster and faster. I tried to see it without the loupe, couldn''t see anything, looked through the loupe again, there it was crystal clear and damning... then I noticed that the prongs seemed to have a big long scratch across them, too, as did the inside of the shank...
Moral of the story - check the loupe before you send your blood pressure through the roof.
