Well no sooner did my bf ask me to move in with him then he had the movers planned and somehow found someone he works with ( one of his interns) to sublet my place through the end of my lease. So here I am, sitting in this fabulous apt hardly believing I live here now. It''s weird to think I won''t be going ''home'' tonight..it''s such a weird sad/happy feeling. I lived in my studio for nearly 3 years and loved it, so many memories... I took off today and yesterday to ''settle'' in and I''m hoping by next week I''ll begin to feel like it''s home. He even said I could totally redecorate it if I want to make more of a home for me. Did anyone else ever feel that weird bittersweet way? I feel like in some way I''ve said goodbye to my old life...

Hi, congratulations on your big move! How exciting! I definitely felt that bittersweet feeling when BF and I moved in together so you''re not alone. It''s an awesome adventure living with the one you love. Just make sure you both take time to yourselves occasionally and it will be amazing! Enjoy!

Congratulations! I think that any big change in life can cause some conflicting feelings, but I hope that you deal with this soon.

Decorating would be a great way of both making your mark on this space, and keeping yourself busy, which should help keep those feelings at bay. Have fun and let us know how you get on!

Wow! That was really fast...I think the other thread you posted was like, last week or something?

I had bittersweet feelings, but it was more that I was leaving the big city and trading it for a much smaller one. I wasn''t too terribly attached to my old apartment, though

I think it''s totally normal to feel like you''re leaving a part of your life behind, because you are going through a pretty major transition right now. Redecorating is a great way to make the place feel more like home to you; that''s really awesome of him to suggest it.
