Out of those two, number one.

Taffeta is less hot in warm climates, but I''ll clue you in on something I wasn''t really aware of until I went dress shopping. . . men think that wrinkly, crinkly stuff looks like a wadded up bed sheet. My guy, and every man who offered an opinion about dresses I was looking at online at work, etc. said the exact same thing. Well, there was one guy would mentioned shower curtain instead of sheet!
It''s funny you say that since my mom said the same thing that taffeta reminded her of sheets! That was when I was looking at this paloma blanca dress!

Thanks for the replies. I think I am leaning towards dress 1. But I next time I go to the bridal store I will try on dresses made from different materials. Stay tune for that post!

You look great in both of them. It''s hard to pick one. I like the beading in #1, but at the same time I like the simplicity of #2. I guess it''s going to depend on the look and feel of your wedding and which dress goes along with the feel better.

#1! #1! #1!

Yes!!! My fiance didn''t mention sheets, but he actually said this one taffeta dress I tried on made me look like "a soft serve ice cream cone." I actually happened to love said dress on myself, although I''ve never been a fan of taffeta. Now, if that''s what you''re set on getting, who cares what others think? But if it''s just about getting something lightweight, I''d check out chiffon or organza as an alternative. I wish my dress were chiffon (it''s satin)...so light and flowy!

What about something like this? Form-fitted but also light and flowy. I definitely like the trumpet shape on you, and this one could be very flattering!

I really love the look of dress 1. But now I am getting nervous about getting taffeta. Any suggestions on what would be a better material? I saw this dress and think that it is similar to dress 1, but made from satin. Here is a description
"One-piece, strapless, slim A-line gown with lace-up closure. This style features an asymmetrically wrapped Shimmer Satin bodice with twinkling embellished lace. Embellished lace also embraces the hip and introduces gathering at each of the side seams."
Do you think this material will be too warm for the beach?

jersey girl, i like the 2nd one.....
SO MUCH that i want to go try it on!!!! :)

it looks so fabulous on you!
where in jersey are you from? i''m originally from NJ (south river)
I am from Manalapan- but I just bought a house in Jackson.

I like the 2nd one, however they are both nice.

Also, if you need to hem the dress, find out how easy it would be. I know for some gowns, you could sew on/move the overlay, others are not so easy. Make sure to ask about that if you decide on dress #1.

I am partial to the first dress because its the same as mine :) YAY!
