i have heard that if an e-ring and a wedding band are to be worn together that they should be composed of the same metal. otherwise, they will wear away at each other. is this true? my e-ring is made of 18k wg and the wedding band that i want is made of platinum. will this pose a major problem?

The link texan posted is great info for you. I can tell you that I wear a platinum ering with a white gold band and really the only major issue is that my jeweler would not solder them together. I don''t want to solder them anyways, so its not a major issue for me personally, but it may be for other people. I am sure every jeweler is different, and some will do it and others won''t. I have noticed that where the 2 rings rub together the rhodium finish wears a little faster. But thats an easy fix. I would have no reservations about using 2 metals, and if I had it to do again, I wouldn''t change the choice I made. Good Luck!!

Yupp, there''s definitely more threads on this too. I wear palladium and wg and don''t have a problem.

thanx for your helpful replies luckytexan, hairgirl95, & elmorton!
