My husband has been traveling for work for 2 out of the last 3 weeks. For most of that time, my 2 yr old daughter & I have been basically homebound with terrible colds.
If anyone has cared for a sick toddler while feeling like crap, you know that it is BRUTAL!!!! She wakes up in the middle of the night crying because she’s coughing/congested, basically miserable! So for me to get a decent night’s sleep has been rare.
I’ll be soooo ready for my husband to get home so I can get some help with her and to get a break and regain my sanity. He gets home tomorrow (Wednesday.)
Sooooo anyway, this is the real vent: I get an email from a girl in my Mom’s group today. She says, “I was wondering if you were able to come over and babysit my kids this Friday night (her kids are 2 yrs. and 7 months old) so my husband & I can go Swing dancing with some friends.”
Whaaaaaattttt? Seriously, I’ve been close to pulling every hair out of my head these past few weeks taking care of my own terrible 2 yr old and you want me to come over and watch yours???? Everyone in my Mom’s group (including her) knows that we’ve been sick and that DH has been out of town. I’m definitely going to tell her no but I don’t know why I’m letting this get to me so much! I''m so irritated that she even asked!
Would you be mad or have I been just stuck in the house with a toddler for waaaaay to long??!!!!!
