Say what you will, the man is a legend, and will be missed.

ABC News is reporting that he died...

ETA: Ooops.. ABC from Australia...

Can anyone povide a link to a website with live video steam of this news? I''m at work and can''t find one that works. CNN''s video doesn''t work for me here...

Sky news are now saying he''s in a coma.

Wolf Blitzer on CNN said he's in a coma.

Oh no. LA Times confirmed it

I just heard him say he''s in a coma....

Sky changed their story again and are now saying he''s dead. I think their source is the LA Times.

I feel so sorry for his children.
Linda, if he''s the child molester most think he is, do you really feel sorry for them?

Lucky, your DH and I would get along well in this regard. I''m always suprised at how attached people become to celebrities.
I don''t think it matters what ''most think'' about the allegations, especially at this time. The man has suffered his entire life, regardless of whether the accusations are true or not. I feel sorry for his children no matter what the case.
I think it''s a bit extreme to say he''s suffered "his entire life", many would say he''s lived quite a charmed life, aside from the alleged abuse he suffered as a child. His musical contributions to the world are unquestionable, but as a person he''s certainly no hero.

My local news is reporting him dead

Wolf Blitzer has now said MJ died.

ETA: But hasn't been confirmed yet. Their sources are LA Times and ABC News I believe?

Well here is what the LA Times says:

[Updated at 3:15 p.m.: Pop star Michael Jackson was pronounced dead by doctors this afternoon after arriving at a hospital in a deep coma, city and law enforcement sources told The Times.]

[Updated at 2:46 p.m.: Jackson is in a coma and family have are arriving at his bedside, a law enforcement source told The Times.]

Even if it hasn''t been confirmed by all the media outlets, it just doesn''t look good for him

That is really sad. I haven''t seen that he''s dead though. I read coma. I have always felt sorry for the guy.

Ditto, just heard he has died.

With celebrities does it always happen in 3s? Ed McMann, Farrah Fawcet, & now Michael Jackson.

Our news, just confirmed that he has died.

Yep, that''s what I just said (well, on the previous page

). FI asked who would be next this morning after Farrah''s death was announced. Scary.

Just as there are people out there who may be convinced of his guilt Re: child molestation, there are others who aren''t totally convinced (me being one of them). He is (was?) definitely a weirdo but at the same time money can be an evil thing. I wonder if we''ll ever know for sure.

With that being said, money doesn''t make a charmed life. The abuse he suffered as a child after being shoved onto the stage at age 5, substance abuse, extreme debt, the trials---not to mention he spent most of his life completely alone. Sad sad sad.

One thing is for certain, he was an icon and there are a lot of people out there who will miss him.

CNN is now saying it too. May he RIP.

I am surprised, but not surprised at the same time...

As far as the person MJ goes, I really feel he was a shell of his former self (comparing his adult persona to the child MJ) and a very sad human being. He had great talent at one point in his life, but he became someone else altogether, with time. I do feel sorry for his children, but have felt that way a long time...he was obviously not a healthy human being and I hope those kids will have a chance for a more normal life. It is sad that his life was so tragic....I don't see him as a successful person at all.

I know! I agree with whoever said that MJ just shouldn''t die. I mean yeah, the charges and creepiness and all that. But damn, he was a fantastic musician.

I was hoping the third would be a 2-1 Speidi deal. Poo.

Well we all have different definitions of ''suffering'', and since I don''t know him personally I can''t speak to specifics, but I think it is safe to say he has struggled with personal deamons for a long time, I think his obsession with plastic surgery alone would suffice as evidence. Sure he was forced in to celebrity by his abusive father at a ridiculously young age. I wouldn''t call that living a ''charmed life'' per say.

I can''t believe how crazy this is....Speechless really
