Here's a status update I copied from my friend:

Outrage over the middle finger your kid saw?!?!? Really?? No complaints about the promoting drinking, dogs as slave pets, go daddy's naked girls, 20 or so guys fighting each other on the field over football, players getting torn acl's, concussions. All that's ok for your kid to watch but the finger the didn't even notice until you rewound the DVR to make sure you pointed it out is an OUTRAGE!!! Oh I'm sure you pointed out that nobody at the stadium were driving themselves home after drinking for 5 hours.

I don't think it's that big of a deal. But if they want to stop having "outrage" from crazy parent type people every damn year, stop having a halftime show, or find boring people to perform during it.

There was so many other things that could be considered 'outrageous', as ame's friend notes above...

Madonna - was good, but not her most kick butt performance. I guess I had hoped for me from such a super star. Nicki Minaj was good (all 2.2 seconds of her... or whatever screen time she managed to get!)

Madonna is 53 years old and had a pulled hamstring. I wouldn't expect her most kick butt performance. She toughed it out pretty well. I enjoyed her show more than most Super Bowl half-time performances.

Her "world peace" thing at the end made me say "oh barf" lol. It was whatever. She took a ZZ Top song and made it suck.

I thought Madonna's half time show was by far the best we've seen in recent years, and I'm not even a Madonna fan.

I think it's ludicrous that a split second of MIA misbehaving (and whoop-di-doo, how shocking!) gets so many people's panties in a bunch!

I guess an injury would explain the lame performance Madonna did. Her age does not excuse the bad performance for me, as my mom is 65 and could likely have moved better I was pretty disappointed in her. She reminded me of Brittney Spears when she made her first post-crackup appearance on TV, wandering around with a vague expression on her face and going through the motions. I love the Madonna of yore, but that show was a joke.
