I haven''t seen you post much lately (or maybe I missed it)

But how are you doing, how are your wedding preparations going?

You are 9 days away!

awww thanks for checking in!

I know, I have been totally MIA lately... ha ha, get it? I''m such a dork.

I have really only been lurking every few days, with no time to post/comment. I''ve been working a lot, as I am a nanny and they are getting a divorce. It couldn''t have happened at a worse time because I have my own life to deal with! Anyway, all of this stress has given me a bit of a sleep disorder and I am not getting good quality sleep, so I am tired all of the time.

But YES- 9 DAYS AWAY!!! I am so excited! It''s starting to feel real! I really only have a couple of things to do with my planning. Really small things like, get my E-ring polished. So I am feeling good about that.

Heya there you are!

Seems like you're having the same type of sleep troubles a lot of us are... I'm exhausted a lot as well with minimal sleep. Only 9 days though! How exciting!!

It must feel great to be just about done. Can't wait to see your pics so post plenty of them!

ETA: What did you wind up doing with your hair? Did you keep it the same color?

Hi Violet!

Yes the sleep thing is so weird. I go to sleep and I have these dreams where there is a problem and I need to solve it and the whole dream is me analyzing the problem. And then the alarm clock rings and I feel like I didn't get any sleep. I really feel like I was awake all night thinking... it's weird but I am hoping it goes away on the honeymoon.

Which by the way... I now know where I am going! He was supposed to surprise me but he ended up chickening out because he got worried that I wouldn't be happy with the decisions he was making as far as activities, etc. So we're going to Moorea, French Polynesia (near Tahiti). So I am excited about that.

Oh and my hair... I decided to keep it as-is! It just comes down to the fact that I like my hair. If I changed it for the wedding I'd just want to change it back afterwards, and that would be stupid. Plus I did some boudior pics and I thought my hair looked great in those pictures.

As for pictures... lets see how they turn out. After seeing your amazing E-pics I'm nervous that mine won't be as artistic as I'd like! We'll see! How long was your session by the way? I'm just wondering if photographer will have enough time to get creative.

hey mia, glad to see you ETA glad to see you're not mia anymore (see I can be a dork too!

)

and what was your doggies name? Oliver? I forget - too many to keep track of!

French Polynesia, and boudior pictures! You've been busy! haha

Ha! Good memory! Yep Oliver is my little pug. He''s doing great although I wonder if he knows he is about to spend a week boarded at the vet... It''s so scary that we will be so far away from him, but he''ll be fine. They always send him back to us nice and fat!

awwwww

he''ll be fine though...and it will be so cool coming home and seeing him again!

When I had the pet sitter here while were in Mexico and then California I asked her to text me every few days just to let me know my sweetie was OK - it was the longest I ever left him, and only second time using her...I fired her when I got back (well, she fired me, actually, but I would''ve fired her anyway haha) but that''s another story.

And how exciting about the honeymoon! What a fantastic location. Nothing I love more than blue water and lounging around on the beach... you''ll be refreshed and relaxed when you get back. I''m sure you''ll sleep great.

Why are you nervous about your pics? If your photographer has a portofolio you like I''m sure your pics will be fine! Our sesssion was probably about an hour and a half.. that''s because we spent time walking around the streets of Carmel looking for weird doors, cool lighting, underground parking garages (haha) and then we went the remaining few blocks to the beach. The hazey sunset was really in our favor that day.

When is your photo shoot scheduled for and how long did they say it would take? My guy gave us no time frame just walked around til he felt he got what he liked. He took about 500 or more shots I think he said.

Yeah he''ll be fine. FI and I went back and forth on where was the best place for Oliver to be. He thinks Oliver should be home with someone coming to take care of him. But I know Oliver doesn''t miss us when we are gone as long as he is getting attention. He needs to have drops in his eyes everyday and I really don''t want to ask someone to hold him down and pry his eyes open. They are used to doing that at the vet. Also, his Addison''s disease is triggered by stress so it sorta needs to be monitored. It''s a good thing he loves going to the vet. We also call every day to check on him. That will get expensive in Moorea, so we''ll probably call every other day or so.

Why did you fire your pet sitter? I hope she wasn''t being neglectful.

Thanks for the compliment on my hair, I believe I had super long roots at the GTG so it usually looks better than that! But yeah my hair is a part of who I am so I can''t believe I was thinking of changing it.

But I am nervous about my pics because I like my photographer''s "real" wedding portfolio, but I guess now that I think about it I am not crazy about ALL of the pics in his "City Hall" elopement portfolio, but that''s what I''m getting, ya know? I''m just really hoping he does as good of a job as he would a "real" wedding. Seeing other people''s awesome E-pics makes me nervous because if you think about it, elopement pictures are very similar to E-pics - just the two of you. So it''s like the pressure is on because it''s not like there is anything else for him to shoot but us. Also these are going to be our only documentation of the day, ya know? It''s not like we''ll have anyone else remembering what a special day it was, so if these pictures suck -that''s it.

But I know I am probably just stressing too much. We only have 2 hours with him which includes our 15 minute-ish ceremony and 1 other location in the bay area. But we can add additional hours for a fee so if I feel like we didn''t get any good one I won''t hesitate to go longer. I also am going to ask him if he has any ideas for "trash the dress" which might take more time. Our appointment is a 12:45, which I think is probably a horrible time to do pictures outside. That was another mistake of mine, but after gay marriage was approved city hall was booked up so I couldn''t change it. Anyway I''m still hoping things work out.

YAY Mia!

I''m glad you kept your hair that way too! It was very flattering on you! I''m sorry you aren''t sleeping either, I hope you catch a couple of good nights between now and then though. ((HUGS)) But you are going to be a married woman with amazing photos to share (you will share won''t you?) very soon! Take care of you, drink lots of water, try napping -- if your charge doesn''t nap now, try talking he/she into it. While I can''t sleep at night, I can nap most days and do at lunch in my car or in a conference room (I just lay right down on the floor and go to sleep) I''ve booked. I only manage 15-20 minutes of actual sleep but it refreshes me and keeps me going a bit.

I think you are making the right decision on Oliver, BTW. You siad he likes the vet, they can monitor him and give him the drops, and you at least know that they can handle things that arise.

Mia, either of these two reasons by themselves is good enough reason to have him stay at the vet. I wouldn''t trust anybody to give my cat medications other than at the vet. And if he wasn''t 100% for whatever reason I would want him monitored and at a place where they can do something about it. You did the right thing!

Well - it''s hard to explain and keep it short, but I''ll really boil it down to the basics. I came back to his litterbox being so humid/damp that it had turned to clay for the most part - there was only about an inch of usable litter on the top. The pan was impossible to clean and I ended up having to throw it out. Let''s just say that her explanation of why that happened didn''t satisfy me (I''ve had that cat for like 13 years now!)- and she thought the problem, and the solution, was about her paying for the replacement of the pan. She didn''t seem to understand that it was about the cat''s comfort and cleanliness, especially when she could have easily rectified the problem (I had more litter in the garage, which she could have found out simply by texting me, and/or I would have gladly paid a service fee for her to pick up extra litter). But what really was a deal-breaker for me was that she made a wise-ass comment to the effect that she''s not in the habit of "bothering people on their honeymoon to tell them how clean their litterboxes are." I thought she was just completely unprofessional, and not a very good pet sitter/caretaker if she thought it was just fine to have the cat use a disgusting soiled litterbox. She did a couple of other things that showed me she wasn''t really keeping up with the cleanliness, but I could have looked past those because I understand not everyone''s going to be like I am.

So now I don''t have a pet sitter, which sucks...

Well gypsy, my charges actually do take naps from 1-3 hours a day. I don''t think my boss would mind if I napped every now and then, but I just have so much to do during my little "break." It really flies by. But I know I need to take better care of myself... I am just hoping my honeymoon is going to have me rested and recharged by the time I come back.

Thanks for agreeing on sending Oliver to the vet. I know he gets the best care for his "issues" there. I do hate that they seem to overfeed him especially since they should know about how important it is to regulate pugs'' weight. But I think that it just means he is getting treats and shows that he is getting attention. Hmmm... maybe we''ll send some carrot pieces for snack this time... It''s more important that if anything were to happen he''d already be where he needs to be.

Yeah I would have let her go too (or let her let me go!). Um isn''t the job of a pet sitter to keep the animal happy and healthy? I wouldn''t want to leave my cat with someone who didn''t realize a filthy litterbox is unhealthy for the cat. Ha! Her not being able to understand "the point" of your issue reminds me of my FMIL! FSIL was just in a arguement with her over FMIL giving FSIL''s children a Rice Krispy Treat AFTER she just witness FSIL telling them no more snacks. FMIL kept saying "it was just a Rice Krispy Treat." She just couldn''t understand that FSIL was upset about FMIL undermining her authority. Yay! Can''t wait to have kids of my own!

That''s how I felt...not only did she not understand on her own (scary enough), but after I explained that to me, a litterbox in that condition was unsanitary and unhealthy for the cat, she STILL didn''t get it, and on top of it, was a wise-ass...no.

THREE days to go! Everything in order?

YES 3 DAYS LEFT!!!! Everything is done! I just need to ribbon-bind the album I made for my boudior pictures and wrap the other gifts I got him. Luckily, we have the whole next day to pack for our honeymoon so I haven''t had to worry about that. Can''t wait!

YAY!

Well, here''s one last time, in case you don''t check back in before the big day, congratulations, and ENJOY THE DAY TO THE FULLEST.

We can''t wait to hear all about it and (hopefully) see pictures.
