Hi Violet!
Yes the sleep thing is so weird. I go to sleep and I have these dreams where there is a problem and I need to solve it and the whole dream is me analyzing the problem. And then the alarm clock rings and I feel like I didn''t get any sleep. I really feel like I was awake all night thinking... it''s weird but I am hoping it goes away on the honeymoon.
Which by the way... I now know where I am going! He was supposed to surprise me but he ended up chickening out because he got worried that I wouldn''t be happy with the decisions he was making as far as activities, etc. So we''re going to Moorea, French Polynesia (near Tahiti). So I am excited about that.
Oh and my hair... I decided to keep it as-is! It just comes down to the fact that I like my hair. If I changed it for the wedding I''d just want to change it back afterwards, and that would be stupid. Plus I did some boudior pics and I thought my hair looked great in those pictures.
As for pictures... lets see how they turn out. After seeing your amazing E-pics I''m nervous that mine won''t be as artistic as I''d like! We''ll see! How long was your session by the way? I''m just wondering if photographer will have enough time to get creative.
Yeah he''ll be fine. FI and I went back and forth on where was the best place for Oliver to be. He thinks Oliver should be home with someone coming to take care of him. But I know Oliver doesn''t miss us when we are gone as long as he is getting attention. He needs to have drops in his eyes everyday and I really don''t want to ask someone to hold him down and pry his eyes open. They are used to doing that at the vet. Also, his Addison''s disease is triggered by stress so it sorta needs to be monitored. It''s a good thing he loves going to the vet. We also call every day to check on him. That will get expensive in Moorea, so we''ll probably call every other day or so.Date: 8/31/2008 10:57:16 PM

awwwwwhe''ll be fine though...and it will be so cool coming home and seeing him again!![]()
When I had the pet sitter here while were in Mexico and then California I asked her to text me every few days just to let me know my sweetie was OK - it was the longest I ever left him, and only second time using her...I fired her when I got back (well, she fired me, actually, but I would''ve fired her anyway haha) but that''s another story.
Thanks for the compliment on my hair, I believe I had super long roots at the GTG so it usually looks better than that! But yeah my hair is a part of who I am so I can''t believe I was thinking of changing it.Date: 9/1/2008 12:44:01 AM

And how exciting about the honeymoon! What a fantastic location. Nothing I love more than blue water and lounging around on the beach... you''ll be refreshed and relaxed when you get back. I''m sure you''ll sleep great.
Why are you nervous about your pics? If your photographer has a portofolio you like I''m sure your pics will be fine! Our sesssion was probably about an hour and a half.. that''s because we spent time walking around the streets of Carmel looking for weird doors, cool lighting, underground parking garages (haha) and then we went the remaining few blocks to the beach. The hazey sunset was really in our favor that day.
When is your photo shoot scheduled for and how long did they say it would take? My guy gave us no time frame just walked around til he felt he got what he liked. He took about 500 or more shots I think he said.
Mia, either of these two reasons by themselves is good enough reason to have him stay at the vet. I wouldn''t trust anybody to give my cat medications other than at the vet. And if he wasn''t 100% for whatever reason I would want him monitored and at a place where they can do something about it. You did the right thing!Date: 9/1/2008 3:16:08 AM

YAY Mia!
I''m glad you kept your hair that way too! It was very flattering on you! I''m sorry you aren''t sleeping either, I hope you catch a couple of good nights between now and then though. ((HUGS)) But you are going to be a married woman with amazing photos to share (you will share won''t you?) very soon! Take care of you, drink lots of water, try napping -- if your charge doesn''t nap now, try talking he/she into it. While I can''t sleep at night, I can nap most days and do at lunch in my car or in a conference room (I just lay right down on the floor and go to sleep) I''ve booked. I only manage 15-20 minutes of actual sleep but it refreshes me and keeps me going a bit.
I think you are making the right decision on Oliver, BTW. You siad he likes the vet, they can monitor him and give him the drops, and you at least know that they can handle things that arise.

Yeah I would have let her go too (or let her let me go!). Um isn''t the job of a pet sitter to keep the animal happy and healthy? I wouldn''t want to leave my cat with someone who didn''t realize a filthy litterbox is unhealthy for the cat. Ha! Her not being able to understand "the point" of your issue reminds me of my FMIL! FSIL was just in a arguement with her over FMIL giving FSIL''s children a Rice Krispy Treat AFTER she just witness FSIL telling them no more snacks. FMIL kept saying "it was just a Rice Krispy Treat." She just couldn''t understand that FSIL was upset about FMIL undermining her authority. Yay! Can''t wait to have kids of my own!Date: 9/1/2008 11:44:08 PM

Well - it''s hard to explain and keep it short, but I''ll really boil it down to the basics. I came back to his litterbox being so humid/damp that it had turned to clay for the most part - there was only about an inch of usable litter on the top. The pan was impossible to clean and I ended up having to throw it out. Let''s just say that her explanation of why that happened didn''t satisfy me (I''ve had that cat for like 13 years now!)- and she thought the problem, and the solution, was about her paying for the replacement of the pan. She didn''t seem to understand that it was about the cat''s comfort and cleanliness, especially when she could have easily rectified the problem (I had more litter in the garage, which she could have found out simply by texting me, and/or I would have gladly paid a service fee for her to pick up extra litter). But what really was a deal-breaker for me was that she made a wise-ass comment to the effect that she''s not in the habit of ''bothering people on their honeymoon to tell them how clean their litterboxes are.'' I thought she was just completely unprofessional, and not a very good pet sitter/caretaker if she thought it was just fine to have the cat use a disgusting soiled litterbox. She did a couple of other things that showed me she wasn''t really keeping up with the cleanliness, but I could have looked past those because I understand not everyone''s going to be like I am.
So now I don''t have a pet sitter, which sucks...
That''s how I felt...not only did she not understand on her own (scary enough), but after I explained that to me, a litterbox in that condition was unsanitary and unhealthy for the cat, she STILL didn''t get it, and on top of it, was a wise-ass...no.Date: 9/3/2008 8:50:35 PM
