Okay, this is a tough one. ;)

My DD is looking for a Pair of earrings for her boyfriend. He wears one earring in each ear, as that seems to be the style for young men in our area. She needs to stay within her tiny budget of under $100 for his birthday.

She is leaning toward these, but can't quite afford them: http://www.etsy.com/listing/65838688/mens-diamond-black-stud-earrings

If anyone can post links to other men's earring vendors, it would be appreciated. She's pretty open to style, since she is early in her search, so she will check out whatever you have to offer.

I, personally, wish she was only doing one earring, since the budget is so small, but he wears two.

SIDEBAR: From a marketing standpoint, this makes for an interesting niche for our beloved gem vendors; someplace for all those dark stones to be sold.

How old is he? Are real diamonds an appropriate gift? I mean there are other things that shall not be named that would fit the bill and budget.

Just a few suggestions... I know they're not good diamonds but for the budget I think they're the best bets... after 50 pages on google shopping :D

These a fabulous, Davi, but don't feel restricted to diamonds. He could do dark sapphires, or dark green tourmalines, or whatever. DD says he likes a larger size, even huggies would work. He currently has 7mm square CZ's.

It sounds like he's in the 'hood", doesn't it?

Thank you for working so hard, Davi! She spent about two hours on Amazon and didn't manage to find those! :appl:

He could do frozen worm spit diamonds, this is a teen, so don't feel restricted to the PS standard of quality.

what your daughter found seems to fit what i see the younger/hip crowd going for here. not too blingy and not to industrial. can she save to get them?

THANK YOU EVERYONE! :wavey: I'm amazed at some of the nice stuff that's out there for guys.

@VL: NONE of those kids look too old for huggies to me

She's looked through everyone's suggestions, and she's leaning toward the white topaz that Flygirl suggested.

I also sent an email to Gemline/Litnon to see if he's got any bargain pairs stuck away somewhere. I can easily pop them into a Tripps setting myself. I also wondering how hard is it (really) to super glue a tiny o-ring around an earring? :naughty: But I'm a trouble-making DIYer, so, we'll see how that goes.

In our family DIY spirit, you'll be happy to hear DD made her boyfriend a little heart pendant (on a leather cord) with their initials for valentine's. She used precious metal clay and DH torched it for her. BF loves it and wears it all the time.

You know, the more I read my posts, the odder I'm starting to sound, even to myself . . . Why can't I just BUY jewelry like a normal person?
