I was eating dinner out tonight and noticed the ring the man next to me was wearing. It was definitely something I would expect to see on a woman and NEVER on a man. It was a 3-4 ct colored stone (lighting was bad, but it looked dark red). It was HALOED. With pave diamonds. And they went down the shank as well. It was absolutely a ring I expected to see on a woman. I even looked twice to make sure it was a man I remembered sitting there. I really, really wanted to strike up a conversation about it and see what he had to say about it, but the restaurant was super loud and it just wasn''t the right time/place. (Is it bad I wanted to sell him I have a similar piece at home?!?

At any rate, this brings me to my point. I looked at his ring and wondered why in the world he choose that. It made me wonder what he was thinking. So for the guys on the site, would you wear something like it? And for the women, what do you think of guys that chose to wear such a piece?

When my Grandmother died, my Grampa took her engagement ring and put it on his pinky finger. He never took it off. I think it made him feel closer to her.

(probably totally NOT what the guy in the restaurant was doing, but your post reminded me of my Grampa!)
Thank you for that.

How wonderful he''s not insecure about his manhood.
Living in fear is a sad sad way to live.

More power to him!

I was going to ask him if it was a family piece, but honestly, I don''t think it was....

If it makes him happy, I''m glad he can wear the thing with confidence. It''s just not the type of piece you expect to see on a guy.

My dad wears a 1.5 ct RB(i think, i never asked) with pave diamonds :P

But the setting is very angular (very square). I think its a very cultural thing though. In Indonesia, the men tend to wear huge diamonds and gemstones as a symbol of their status.
