Ok so I am meeting with her tomorrow at 11am. I don''t know what my colors are yet because I haven''t picked a dress. This is more to get to meet her and give her an idea of what I want. Because this is the first time I am meeting with a florist, I have no idea what kinds of questions I should be asking. I just want to be prepared and not look like a naive little girl when I meet with them tomorrow. Any help/input would be greatly appreciated.

this link has some helpful tips and even a printable sheet of questions you should ask your florist. also, don''t worry about not yet knowing your colors (our florist was the one who picked ours! we knew we wanted one particular shade of blue, and she picked everything else!), but do be aware that on some types of flowers, the colors available may b more limited. hope the article helps!

Thank you doodle. The article really helped out a lot. I have a better idea of what kind of questions to ask for tomorrow. I will let you know how it turns out.

Hey museik,

I guess this means you won''t be able to go to Brunch tomorrow morning, eh?

We didn''t know anything either, remember? The vendor you are meeting with is so amazing, that she does most of the thinking for you. That reminds me, I need to write her an email. She is fabulous.

We changed the plans and colors and flowers at least a gazillion times. She said she is used to it. Brides do it all the time. She would probably faint if someone like Gypsy came in and knew down to the number of stems exactly what she wanted.

You couldn''t be in better hands. Chances are, she will have done a wedding or two...or more, at your venue. That makes is easier for her, because she will think of everything that you don''t even think you have to think about.

I can''t wait to hear how you feel about her. I almost want you to meet with three or so, just so you can see the difference.

Not as well received thing as you think Miracles. There were a few of them that were freaked out, and not in a good way. They were like, "I am artiste, you cannot restrain my vision." Uh huh. My dime. My vision. I love my florist because she gave me lots of options, within my ''vision'' and took lots of notes and when I said something she didn''t like she didn''t say "no" ... she just suggested alternatives, showed me pictures and gave me solid reasons. museikchik-- like any other vendor, chemistry is important, you want to know that she is listening to you... when you ask her for examples of certain things she shows you what you are asking about. If you ask her for all white bouquets, she should show you all white bouquets, not say... here''s a pink bouquet, white is so ''typical'' don''t you think? She should be more concerned with capturing your desires, than showcasing hers. Hope that makes sense!

Yeah sorry Miracles, I prob could swing by but could only stay for like a half hour which doesn''t make much sense (I have to drive to Fallbrook). I will tell you all about it on Monday.

Gypsy I totally get what you mean. I haven''t come across anyone like that yet (knock on wood) but I know that is the most important thing. It doesn''t make sense to pay money for something that you don''t want.

This is a little off topic. I worked out super hard at the gym today since I am not going to be able to go tomorrow. I was on the rowing machine for like a half hour and I have blisters on the bottom of my index and ring fingers on both hands. They kind of hurt. I am secretly laughing though because I remember when we lived with my grandma (who lives on a farm) she would always get mad at me for not holding the hoe the right way. My grandma never spanked us, she would just make us hoe her yard or clean the chicken coop as a form of punishment. If my grandma heard me complaining about these blisters she would get soo mad at me. Hehehe

Hahhahaha, I am going to call you "Hoe" from now on.

Kidding.... Hey, what time did you work out? I was there from 9-11 and looked for you. I was going to try to coax you into the weight class. Surprisingly, I made it the entire class for the first time ever. I even did abs... whoda thunk it??

Gypsy''s right. We had that happen to us at one of the florist vendors we met with. At least the first "artiste" suggested my daughter go elsewhere. Yeah, like we needed her to tell us that.

I can''t wait to hear about your experience. btw, it''s hot in the store. It was like 100 degrees while we were in there and I still liked her. That says a lot...because you know how I get when I''m too hot.

I didn''t go until waay later. I got there at like 5:30 pm and left at 8:00. I like going at that time because the gym is dead and you don''t have to worry about trying to get a machine. I woke up at 8:30 this morning and thought about going but decided to go back to sleep instead. That''s awesome you went through the ab stuff. I can barely survive the two seconds they do in the dance class. I couldn''t even imagine going to an actual "ab" class.

So I met with a florist today and she was awesome. She didn''t try to pressure me into spending all of this money. We kind of went over what I had in mind. She is supposed to send me a quote on Wednesday and then I can look at each item and decide if I really need it or not. Soo excited that it was not all crazy like I thought it was going to be.

On a side note I almost had a heart attack going there. I looked up directions and thought okay no big deal seems easy enough. As soon as I exited I realized that I had to go on a windy two lane road and started hyperventilating. My dad used to drive through that area all the time and got into a really bad accident. I was going slow, had a million cars behind me and was gripping the steering wheel so tight my knuckles were white. Had I known where it was, I would have made someone come with me. Anyway I got there and back accident free but next time I am totally taking someone with me.

Sorry I didn''t respond earlier! I am glad your florist appointment went well!! Unless you think this is the one I would recommend going to at least two personally..but if she is the one then go for it! I went to two and the second one was better..and half the cost.

Haha so happy! Anyway, I am sorry you started hyperventilating! It sounds like you had a panic attack. Just take it slow next time and bringing someone else might be a good idea.

So far I am thinking she might be the one but we will see what the quote looks like. That is awesome you were able to find one that was half the cost of the first one you saw. Luckily I wasn''t really hyperventilating (I was just hyperventilating on the inside). If that makes any sense. Believe me I have had a panic attack before and would be totally freaking out if I had another one. Not an experience I would recommend. Either way, I think I am going to drag someone with me if I have to go back there.

Yeah..I really..really hate panic attacks.

Just wanted to wish you luck on the quote!! What kind of flowers did you pick out, like which kinds do you want to use?

Ok don''t laugh at me SarahLovesJS. My middle name is Rose and as I was looking at the pictures the florist was showing me I tended to like the ones with roses in them (go figure). So as cheesy as it sounds I think I am going to go with different color spray roses (at least for the bouquets/boutienniers anyway) and throw in some Stephanotis (I had to look that one up, I couldn''t remember what it was called) for the bridesmaids bouquets.

Sorry, I didn''t warn you about the drive up there. We got lost too.

But isn''t she just the most stress free and educational vendor. She definately has good energy and loves what she does. We were blown away by her quote and her demeanor, compared to the other 3 florists we met with. If you like her and her quote, I don''t think you need to go get any other ones. Between school and wedding planning, you have a job to do too!
