Meet my mom''s new puppy!

Sadly, our Chihuahua of 13 years, Cocoa, passed away a couple weeks ago. My mom was pretty broken-hearted about it since we had had him since he was 3 months old and he was really my mom''s baby. Since she''s by herself in the house most of the time, I wanted to get her another puppy. We got him today- he''s a 3 month old Papillon. His name right now is Phantom but we''ll be changing it. My mom likes Wang-ja or Haneul (they mean "Prince" and "Sky" in Korean) but she can''t decide yet. He is just adorable. He''s big and fluffy and friendly - we''re just hanging out now until my mom gets home from work.

Aww thanks everyone! He''s being such a good puppy. He loves the new toys we''ve given him and he''s been lying down next to me, gnawing on his rawhide bone for the last hour. And occasionally getting up to bark at the neighbor''s dogs

And in fact, I had a hilarious dream that I had taken our Chihuahua to an ''animal therapist'' for depression and the Dr.''s diagnosis was that our pooch had ''breed confusion'', and thought he was a Papillon and wanted us to refer to him as such.

No idea where that came from! But your mom''s new pup is a sweetheart!

Eeee puppy!!! Gods, he is so adorable - all that fur, and those EARS! I want to just squish him.

Thank you all! Lynn, he shouldn''t get much bigger than the size he is now. I think larger Papillons (which he will be) are generally around 10 lbs. full grown. Our Chihuahua was a bit smaller (around 8 lbs and he was big for a Chihuahua). It''s funny, the new puppy is about the same size as our Chihuahua was full grown but seems MUCH bigger, because he''s more solidly built and has much more fur!

I''m not entirely sure about the nervousness. Definitely less so than Chihuahuas I think, but I read that Papillons can get very attached to one person too. Musey might know more than I - hers is a Pap/Pomeranian mix and I know her dog is very well trained and calm.

And as requested, more pics from today - it''s hard! He hardly ever stays still for more than a second!
