May Day traditions!

Does anyone else know the tradition of giving baskets of flowers on May Day? We did it when we were kids, but I don''t see people do it anymore and I can''t find anything about it online.

I think it''s still done. I was recently looking for a hanging basket to send as a gift and all of the florists I called said they didn''t get them in until closer to Mother''s Day.
