any reactions to the brackets?

we should have a PS bracket challenge!

For the first time in years - I have no idea who is going to win this thing.

East bracket is BRUTAL! Ohio State definitely has the toughest draw of all the number 1 seeds (and they were the overall number 1 seed - makes no sense). I don't see them making it to the Final 4. I can't remember the last time Pitt made it out of the Sweet Sixteen - they usually choke come tournament time. I have a feeling Michigan might win a few - their 1-3-1 defense stymies offenses not used to playing against that particular zone. Big East has 11 teams dancing this year and any one of them could make a run.

Don't discount coaching. I'll always give an edge to legendary, proven winners. Duke's Coach K. Uconn's Jim Calhoun (though Uconn could be tired from winning the Big East tournament - but Kemba Walker is a BEAST!). Florida's Billy Donovan (though I'm surprised they were seeded so high). West Virginia's Bob Huggins - no single coach has done more with less this year. They don't have a single "go to guy", yet have key wins against Purdue, Georgetown, Louisville, Uconn, and a full on rout of Notre Dame. However, they struggle against teams that have more size (Syracuse, Pitt, Marquette). They have to get past Kentucky to make it to the Sweet Sixteen, which isn't likely. However, the Mountaineers still have Joe Mazulla . . . and well, see my signature.

i haven't watched a lot of Big 12 ball this year - I need to read up more on Texas, Kansas, K-State.

I'll have more comments once I study the bracket more.

LAJennifer I can't see your signature for some reason?

East is definitely the toughest region. Not so sure about the Big East teams after they all choked last year. Pitt's region is the weakest for sure. K-State out of that one maybe? Jacob Pullen is always fun to watch in the tournament.

My sig is "Kentucky had the lottery picks. West Virginia had Mazzulla." That was a headline during last year's NCAA's when number 2 seed West Virginia knocked off number 1 seed Kentucky.

West Virginia was a final 4 team last year - lost to Duke after their star player went down mid-game with a torn ACL. The bracket this year is set up for the Big East teams to eliminate each other (4 BE teams in the East bracket - seriously?), though I expect one will make it to the Final 4 - but I don't think it will be Pitt (though they have the easiest road).

West Virginia has no real offense this year - but, hey, they can teach you how to Dougie:

how is everyone's bracket holding up? mine is terrible!!! lost 2 of my final four (KState and Texas). Was not expecting Wisconsin to go far in the tournament...considering they scored a measly 33 points in their conference final and Cornell kicked their butts last year (GO BIG RED!)

glad to see Pitt and ND knocked out...thought they were overrated. Surprised at VCU...didn't even think they would make the tourney. Still upset about officiating in TX game.

The BM where I purchased my ER/WB sent me an e-mail for "Score Some Hoops" - bracket winner gets a pair of diamond hoops!! I was SO pumped, and the field ended up being pretty small - about 50 people. Unfortunately, I'm in currently in 17th place, and I have Ohio State in that one, and about 5 people ahead of me have Ohio State, too. I don't think I'm getting hoops this year.

But in DH's work bracket, I'm holding down 3rd - I take it all if Kansas takes the championship. We're a Mizzou household, so choosing Kansas is right next to a mortal sin, but I bit the bullet and went with them anyway.

Out of the 300 people I play with in a pool, I am in 5th place so far, but I watch college basketball (any team) constantly from November-March so I am not surprised. In my pool I have VCU winning one more, but I'd love to see them make it to the Final Four.

I don't have a bracket but I'm rooting for VCU! (It's my alma mater!)

My bracket is officially busted. I had Pitt going to the Final Four. The Pitt/Butler game is crazy. Lots of good games; lots of parity. My two teams are playing one another on Friday and even though I love me some Big Blue, the Bucks are just sick this year.

O-H

For now I am #1 in my group and something like top 250 out of 388,000 in yahoo fantasy sports.

GO VCUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU! (And Kentucky, too, since my husband loves them!)

wooooohoooooo UK!!!!! (and VCU too :twirl: ) what great games tonight!!

The Final Four will be in town next week....no telling who will be here, though.
