Damn it you guys, this was about banana hammocks, not leggings!

SORRY! Your convo was 100000x more amusing. Please continue! :appl: :appl:

As a woman wearing black leggings as pants today, let us swing right back to nut huggers.

Monarch if you look as good in leggings as you do in a T shirt, I am obviously not referring to you.

Hahaha, Ruby I don't even know if my behind is as high as it used to be, but I don't care because I can't see it! LOL I would take a selfie of my butt and post it but Dancing Fire might get too excited. :naughty:

Again, it is not their body.

It is their choice of clothes.

Ruby I am saying this lovingly, it is different than talking about speedos on men. Women are already inherently self conscious about their bodies so making fun is a bit of a taboo. If that were my behind I would not want that pic on the internet, much like those Walmart pics that Kenny put on the other thread. Some rock it and don't care but others are not as tough.

Wow we are in the 21st century, where men purchase beauty products and do what they can to look good.

So yes, I am sure there is a man or two who is self conscious about his body as well.

Yes, men are supposed to be strong - never cry or feel self- conscious.
So, man shaming = good
and woman shaming = bad

Ruby/Lovedogs/Elliot/whomever: I can see both sides of this, and will grant Ruby that there is a double standard here. By the same token, though, it is also not a nice thing to post photos of overweight women wearing very unflattering clothing, so really we are all wrong for even participating in the discussion. I apologize for my part in it and for beginning it in the first place. I made a lighthearted comment off the bat and didn't consider the potential consequences. I will take my lumps. Of coal. Under pressure and cut really nicely.

I started a separate thread. But I will say it feels very different to laugh at a professional comedian dressed as Borat and an unsuspecting man or woman going about their day. We are all perfect in our imperfections for sure!

Absolutely, Elliot, no argument here. I think we can all present our opinions and have a discussion about why we feel others are offensive or not, and I'm glad you started the spinoff thread. I hope we can all find common ground and try to understand each other.

If you're posting a photo of someone's body in order to make fun of them, or how they look in clothing, that is body shaming. Would you post a photo of a woman with a different body type in leggings with the same caption? If not, think twice before you post it.

That won't be tolerated here. Women have enough body issues as it is without needing other women ripping them apart on a forum.
