Hi fellow brides. I bought my wedding dress on Saturday feeling pressured to do so because my wedding is November 8. It''s a beautiful gown and it looks good on me, but it''s not really what I pictured myself getting married in. I had to pay a 75% deposit. I pay the rest when it comes in. Well today I went to a local bridal botique and tried on a Casablanca dress (style 1892) and I fell in LOVE. It is The One. It looks so incredibly stunning. I knew it was the One as soon as I put it on. It''s a sample and it fits almost perfectly so I would buy that exact one. So now what do I do?

Do you think the first boutique has already ordered the dress? You could definitely try calling them and asking if its too late to cancel. They probably didnt order it on Sat or Sun, so if anything they ordered it yesterday or today. OR you could be a two dress girl and have to sell the first one somehow. Are they both super expensive? If you have the flow you could buy both and figure something out! My first dress was only around 800 dollars and I, too am having second thoughts and kinda want to look at others! Aghhh! Post pics of both if you can! Im curious to see the dresses and the differences!

omygoodness! i have no advice, but accept my sympathies... i''m sure the experienced ladies here will have soem useful suggestions.

My fear was that I had outgained a comfortable fit on my gown. I gained a few pounds and its snugger and no time to let it out. I was worried about having to perhaps buy/rent a last minute gown that would fit. I''m spending this last week eating verrry carefully.

Good luck!

Laylia, you need to weigh whether it is more important to you to have your "perfect" dress, or whether you are willing to settle on your first choice in the interests of not overspending on what is, after all, only one day out of the rest of your new life.

You need to ask yourself some heartfelt questions:
1) Can you afford to buy both dresses (assuming it is too late to cancel the order on the first one) and then try to sell the first one? You will only be able to recoup about half the cost of what you spend on the first one by re-selling it, though.

2) Would the feeling you have in dress #2 totally justify a splurge (again assuming it is too late to cancel the first one).

3) Do you like the first dress? Do you look beautiful in it? Do you feel comfortable in it? If yes, and it''s a matter of feeling MORE beautiful and comfortable in the second dress, re-read questions #1 and 2.

4) Can you reconcile your thoughts about not being in the "perfect" dress and enjoy yourself at your wedding anyway, congratulating yourself on saving money?

5) Is this dress going to be an heirloom that you intend to pass down to your daughters?

6) Will you hate your wedding photos if you are not in dress #2?

7) Will you be totally distracted mentally if you settle on dress one in the interests of being practical?
