Today at a store I noticed one of those self checkout machines.
While it was waiting for a customer to use it every 15 seconds it said, "Please select your language."
I thought, how nice and woke for all those who speak other languages.

But then I noticed something.
It said it ONLY in English.

I pointed this out to my human cashier and he burst out laughing.
He said, "I hear that thing all day but I never noticed that."

Later I thought the only way they could make it sound even more 'American' is for the voice to shout it, very slowly.

i dont like those automated check outs
most of the time they are next to ussless anyway

and they do people out of entry level jobs
