Florida Highway Patroll is about to give a live press conference about Tiger Woods.

It's over.

Tiger gets a $164 citation for unsafe driving and there is no reason to pursue an investigation of the allegations of domestic violence.
I wonder if this story will go away now.

i really hope it does lol

The whole is fishy to me...very, very fishy...

Who cares?

Sorry, not meaning to be rude but who really cares? Why do we get so wrapped up in this kind of BS?

Am I alone when I say "Who gives a hoot?"

Shoot, I was hoping he would whistle through those newly missing teeth

Lots of people care.
Lots of people are very curious and interested.
People vary.

I'm an avid golfer, and I couldn't care less. It caught my attention when it first came out because there was a chance that the world's best golfer could be lying in a hospital badly injured, but it is just a witch hunt now.

It is his and his family's own personal business. He doesn't try to be in the public eye, so it irritates me when the media tries to force people into the public eye. (ie, the media trying to convince the public that the police department should be doing "more" in order to get answers.) He wasn't intoxicated, so that is that. It was an accident. No one needs to know any more.

The only person that should have a right to care is his neighbor. If that was an old tree, I would appreciate some compensation

I''m not sure why this was such a big story with the media. He got into a car accident, he was possibly hurt, and now he wants private time with his family while he revcovers (if the supposed injuries are serious enough). I''m not sure where the story is.

those that "care" about what is a personal incident should get a life.....eta: so i can "care" about their personal and private life too!

In tiger woods case I really think the media is pushing to find a story. He seems to be a very private person and as such I think his privacy should be respected. Some others in the media, people like Paris, lindsay lohan etc who deliberately seek out fame and court the media, well I think they are fair game. But Tiger has never sought out the media so leave him alone, must my 2 cents worth

He..He. Well I happen to live about 3-4 miles away from him in Orlando and currently I don''t have a life (read:unemployed) so I "care" about it. I know that it is incredibly shallow and I imagine I will move on to something else shortly

Oh, I failed to mentioned that I have met his wife Elin 3 x''s and have also spoken to her on the phone. She is one of the nicest, most down to earth people I have ever met. The PSer in me was on the lookout for some major bling, labels galore. NADA..She isn''t flashy at all...I found that really refreshing.

It piqued people''s interest because a few short days prior it was leaked he was at a tournament in Melbourne with another woman. Then Tiger''s wife courageously rescued him from his SUV by blowing out the back seat window to pull him out. Then when you see the picture of the wrecked SUV, he hit the fire hyrdrant and the tree on the passenger side. Driver''s door unblemished.

If he/they hadn''t fudged their way through the initial story, it wouldn''t be so curious now.

He''s got major endorsement deals with Nike, AT&T, Gatorade, Gillette, and more...that doesn''t sound too private to me.

In any case, I''d like it to blow over so I can go back to reading the gossip sites, this story is boooooring and they need to move on.

Ok, I admit it, I''m a little curious as to what really happened because the story is definitely a little fishy...I know it''s really nobody''s business as to what went on, but I''m nosy by nature! I also admit I should work on getting a life.

It''s not so much that I CARE, it is just sheer amazement of what happens to seemingly intelligent people when they cheat (if the allegations are true, of course). I mean seriously, a cocktail waitress in Vegas that has appeared on the Rock of Love show? Did he not think that she would save evidence to seek out her 15 minutes of fame when the timing was right? Sometimes it seems like men''s brains fall out when sex is involved....I really hope for his son''s sake and his wife''s sake that it isn''t true, but this woman supposedly has pictures, voicemails and texts as evidence.

Golfers, let this be a lesson to you:

Be careful where you use your 9 iron.

It's not so much that people "care", it's curiousity combined with celebritiy combined with weird story that said celebrity refuses to talk about which fuels curiosity and round we go. Maybe some here find it ridiculous but the masses eat this stuff up, so it sells mags and you know the rest (Jon & Kate...etc). Tiger is v. private which piques curiousity--he is also one of the highest paid celebrities (due to endorsments which are directly linked to his public image).

I think he has made a mistake by not addressing the rumors. When that happens, rumors take the place of fact. Most people now assume he got beat up by his wife who was enraged over his cheating and chased him with a golf club--and if this isn't the truth, his odd behaviour sure isn't helping. Is it their business? Sure...but in world of celebrity the line is blurred for reasons that have been debated ad nauseum.

He has addressed the stories, and to me it seems that he has admitted guilt. I think that there are now 3 women in question... The one who initially is denying it, and then two others: a waitress in Vegas and the girl from the reality show.

He wrote a statement on his webpage, for anyone that wants to read what he says. It is under the Headline: "Tiger speaks on Current Events"
http://web.tigerwoods.com/index

I hope that the media will leave him alone, though it is highly unlikely. Unfortunately, since he is more than likely not to speak out again, the tabloids will play out these womens' stories for as long as possible.

Of course people care. It's the same reason why we read Us Weekly and People and other gossip rags. Those magazines are being read by somebody!

I don''t think he''s addressed these stories--he refused to talk to the police (not required but unusual for a person to not comply with the request) and his initial statement was vague at best. Which only fueled the rumors. His latest statement seems to be more forthcoming (read like a politician''s statement) and alludes to his cheating. It might be enough, but my guess he''ll have to do an Oprah show sometime soon!

Golf, holes, and chasing women.
The vulgar jokes will be endless.

He''s basically admitted to cheating.
I expect advertisers will drop him faster than Michael Jackson.

I don''t know about that. When Kobe cheated, didn''t all his endorsements still keep him?

We''ll see.

Here is a voicemail Tiger left for one of his . . . ahem . . . "lady friends".

I don''t feel sorry for Tiger for all the media coverage...he should have thought about what would happen when he betrayed his wife the way he did. I do feel sorry for his wife and child, b/c his child can google him when he gets older and read about all this. I actually do hope he loses his endorsements. He deserves it for his actions.

lol. I highly doubt that. This doesn't change the fact that he is the best golfer in the world.

On the 30th, Nike said that Tiger had their full support and wish to respect Tiger's privacy. Gatorade is still backing him as well.

ETA: Golf is a majority men's sport. Not many men are going to stop buying Tiger Woods clothing, golf balls, gloves etc. because he cheated. They don't stand to loose much by keeping him on. Maybe some women won't buy their husband a TW golf shirt for Chrstmas, but that is about it. And I hardly think that a majority of the nation is going to switch to Powerade from Gatorade just because of Tiger.
