A friend was asking this on FB, thought it was a great topic...

What would you do with your kids....

And for the one PS'er that took her kids to the dentist... Not looking for those kind of suggestions, but so get it... ;))

Watch your kid make snow angels

Go sledding

Make hot chocolate

Eat lots of fattening comfort food

Watch movies cuddled up

With my hypothetical children, we would:

-- stay in our jammies all day
-- bake cookies or cupcakes and then decorate them
-- play in the snow
-- go for a walk and catch snow on our tongues
-- do some sort of art project
-- snuggle in bed and read
-- make popcorn and watch a movie

What I really plan to do:

-- make a healthier version of mac and cheese with a new recipe I just found
-- sit by the fire, that is, if I could figure out how to turn on our gas fireplace (flipping the switch isn't working)
-- snuggle in bed and read
-- sip tea all day
-- watch the snow falling
-- catch up on shows on the DVR

Snow forts!!!

I remember one particular year, we had so much snow that I made a snow house in my yard. The subway was full of tunnels that we dug through it, and then in another section I made a house with separate rooms and furniture, everything but a roof :) I was about 10 at the time, and spent nearly 2 full days working on it. I was so proud of it, I insisted that my mom take pictures of it.

We dont have any kids butt I'm betting that many kids were the result of a snow day :naughty:

On that note: I love to ice skate (poorly mind you). Cuddling in front a fire would be nice too if we had one (again, the result for many is probably kids  )

Micah is kind of small for it, but if he was older and we had a snow day, I think we would do lots of baking, drink a lot of hot chocolate, and make snowmen!

Here's what we do on Snow Days...luckily, I stay home and JT isn't in school full time so we get to do this stuff a lot!

Watch cartoons while covered with cozy blankets. We like Phineas and Ferb but will find Fraggle Rock at times.
Bake cookies. Any cookie qualifies!
Make Hot Cocoa with lots of whipped cream. Drink cocoa until you're warm.
Play board games. Pictionary Man is so much fun.
Drag a kid around on a sled, or if feeling extra adventurous, drag a kid around on a sled behind a 4 wheeler.
Get on the sled yourself. :)
FLOP in the snow. How many times in life can you really just FLOP with no consequences besides a fluffy cold cloud consuming you?
Look at the crystals that form on the windows. Draw on the windows.
Plan a movie and snacks for later. You know you want to!
Just BE. How many Snow Days do we get? It's a great time to just be.

Yesterday, I had to dig through a drift to find my ring that flew off while scraping my car windows.

For us, our two main traditions are sledding and then drinking hot cocoa w/marshmallows. The two go hand-in-hand.

Other eight?

Hummm...maybe another activity is play monopoly. We had planned to do that today but since school wasn't cancelled (only delayed) we couldn't do that.

I'm not sure what else we do b/c after the sledding AND all the laundrying of wet clothes, I like to just sit and watch a movie or something EASY.

Oh no, what a nightmare. One time, after about a foot and a half of snow had fallen, I dropped my car keys down and they sank into the snow and were not as easy to find as one could imagine. :errrr:

Obviously I wasn't wearing gloves so my hands went numb while pawing through the snow. Mental note: hands shrink when cold.
