Hi

I am doing an upgrade of my centre stone in my origial 3 stone e-ring, which means my .30 c stone is now lleft over. I would like to use it for sentimental reasons.

My options are

1. set the .30 in a bezel penant ( I dont wear necklaces much, but i do wear them)

2. set it in a half bezel ring to wear as an alternate e-ring when we go travelling, camping, hiking etc. We love to travel and get out and about and I wont wear my good jewellery then and usally just wear a band, but it would be nice to have a little .30 e-ring - which is part of my original e-ring.

So is no 2 a strange idea?

What would would you do? I feel a bit strange having 2 e-rings then, but both would have the orignal stones from the original e-ring, it would just be re- configured - so one 1.5 c total e-ring and one .30 trave/camping e-ring - I just have a plain gold band for a wedding band so it is always practical.

hmmmmm, which seems better

I vote for #2!

Its only ''weird'' if you think it is, know what I mean? I think its a great idea; for travel, which it sounds like you really enjoy and do often. I love having a little something on me to remind me of home when I''m away; an alternate e-ring with an ''original'' diamond would do the trick for me. It would also be great to pass on to your daughter or son for a big event or for their own engagement ring (that way, you''ve got one to keep too!).

My first choice is that you send the diamond my way, but assuming that''s not an option, I vote for #2. That sounds like a good way to have your cake and eat it too when you''re traveling.

thanks girls

You know I really like the idea of option 2 the more I think about it - I just have to get my head around it as it is sooooo not the done thing here in australia , upgrading let alone having 2 e-rings. I think I had better move to the states

I would be nice to have my real e-ring around when we travel but not worry about the size (.30 is small enough not to attract attention) and bezel will mean it will be hardy and practical.

hmmm, just got to convince DH, he loves the idea of the pendant.

thanks

I vote for which ever option you would wear more - both sound like really good ideas.

I was going to say make a pendant, but if you often have situations where you don''t want to wear your ering, I''d totally go for #2!!!

I have a diamond pendant that I wear 24/7 for about the last 15 years...so a pendant would be my first choice if
you dont have one. Just wondering why you would only wear it occasionally?

I love the idea of number 2

I vote for the second option, I think that''s a perfect solution!

I''m going against the grain and voting for option #1. While I don''t think that #2 is weird at all (I want a travel ring myself!) I would think that in the long run you''ll get more use out of the pendant. You''ll be able to wear it while wearing your upgraded ring even! You aren''t likely going to have that opportunity with the reinvented ring you are describing. And while it might be nice to have some bling while camping, how often do you go? Would it be more than 2 weeks out of the year?

Even though you don''t fancy yourself much of a necklace wearer, the pendent sounds like a staple, all purpose necklace that you might just put on daily.

Ditto. You will end up wearing the smaller diamond ring a lot more than you expect. I have two and I love the versatility.

Ditto.

Think of it this way - it''s a sentimental diamond to you, and setting it as a bezel set pendant will always be closest to your heart. I also didn''t wear necklaces very much before I had mine.

I vote 2. I think that is a great idea. I wish I had two sometimes.

I think a travel ring is perfect. I have a travel e-band.

#2!

I vote for the first option! I usually just wear a band when I''m traveling or don''t feel comfy with my e-ring anyway. With the necklace, you''ll be able to wear both diamonds at once!
