Wedding Laura Hooper Calligraphy - Custom Map Sooo Excited!

Hi ladies!

I haven''t been around much lately as, even though our wedding isn''t until next September, I am in the trenches! I feel so out of the loop.

It''s crazy how much time this wedding planning stuff can take up if you let it.

I''ve been so busy getting everything in order and I''m THRILLED knowing that our save the dates have gone to print and we should be able to see them in real life shortly AND a custom map of Seattle by Laura Hooper Calligraphy that we will be including with our save the dates as magnets to hold up our save the date post card is complete.

It is gorgeous and since I won''t be showing it to anyone involved in the wedding until the save the dates go out, I was bursting to share it with you guys!! I love, love, love, love it! It''s just so cute.

A note to anyone who may be considering working with Laura ... She is amazing! She is so personable, responsive and easy to work with and so, so, so talented!

Thanks for letting me share my excitement.

I hope that it comes up big enough for you to see all the detail.

I TOLD my mother she should go into business designing those maps, the one she made for us looks so similar, how funny.

You are too sweet. It''s nice to see all of you guys again. When you''re away for a while it feels like reconnecting with friends you haven''t seen in a while, doesn''t it?

I''m SO glad that you like the map and that you think that our guests will love receiving it. That was our aim. I loved the idea and wanted to help people avoid junk mail. When people get save the dates and other wedding paraphernalia - especially so far away, sometimes it just gets lost in the shuffle and they throw it out (some on purpose, others not). I hope that this will help our guests to get excited about the wedding and, for lots of them, their trip to Seattle. It''s just fun and a little bit different.

I can''t wait to be able to show you guys our save the dates!

I ditto what you said ... yes, your mother should - without a doubt - go into business designing these maps. She would do very well for herself. Her work is impeccable.

I remember when you posted the map that your mom made for you and I thought that it was amazing. I wanted to do something to incorporate that but our save the dates sort of went in a different direction so I forgot about it until. .... I was reading a bridal magazine and saw one of Laura''s maps and fell in love again. Then, on top of this, the company designing our save the dates and invitations recommended her to do the calligraphy for our envelopes and that sealed the deal .. it was fate, right? Had to do it!

Are you going to encourage your mom again and show her Laura''s website? Since your mom is so talented I think that she will be able to see that, yes, she really can do it and make it profitable. Go Mom!!

Hi Spark, honey! I haven''t been on here much either...the new hubby isn''t too keen on me sitting on the computer all night every night, so I''ve been trying to pace myself. I''ve made a deal with the devil that once all of my crap is out of my house and tossed into this one, I''m taking some PS time for myself every night! Until then, I have so much to do that I feel guilty when I get on.

I think your map magnet is gorgeous...she did a fantastic job! I''m so excited to hear more about your wedding plans...please do keep us posted!

Hi Harleigh!

I can imagine that he wouldn''t be pleased missing out on your company while you are on PS. I remember when I first discovered PS and I was on non-stop during any free time, my fi didn''t like that very much. Since we are long distance, PS used to bite into our phone time and I would end up calling him really late etc. I felt like an addict. I''m kind of glad that all of this wedding planning stuff has distracted me and kept me too busy to really spend time and enjoy PS but I do miss helping people out in Rocky Talk and it''s weird but it really is like a virtual friendship with many on PS so you do miss people and are genuinely interested in how they are doing.

I agree. Once you are all settled in, allocate some PS time for yourself but limit it so that you can be sure to make time to enjoy your hubby. I miss seeing you around as much but am glad that your wedding went of well and that you are happily married now.

Thanks for being interested in my wedding plans ... You are too sweet. I would love to share all the details by starting a thread by am fearful that I will bore people or that nobody will be interested. Although I''m happy with everything and the decisions we have made so far, I am only a couple bad comments away from being an emotional bride, right?

If I do decide to start a wedding thread, I will be honored if you peek in to check it out.

Glad you like the map as well. I love it and have now posted it on our wedding website so guests will get them with their save the dates, which lists our website address and then they will see it on there as well. I hope that they like it as much as we do.
