Lalaloopsy!

Thanks to my nieces' Christmas list requests, I just discovered the Lalaloopsy line of dolls. Is anyone else familiar with them? When I first saw them at Toys R Us, my first thought was WTH? But then I saw the one named Suzette La Sweet, who reminds me of a rag doll version of Marie Antoinette: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11884121
They almost have a kind of Tim Burton-esque feel to them.

I ended up buying three: two for both my nieces, and one for moi! I just couldn't resist. She's sitting on my closet shelf right now. I told my husband that she's an action figure, not a doll! Although he would be the last one to give me a hard time about it since he had to buy himself a Nerf gun when he saw how cool the one is that we got for my nephew.

Are there any kids' toys that you haven't been able to resist buying for yourself, or are we just highly immature?

I must admit that I'm enjoying his Nerf purchase, too. It shoots out little foam-edged discs. It's amazing how far they'll go! He's been watching videos on YouTube about modifications that can be made to Nerf guns to improve their range. I'm trying not to laugh at him while he's engrossed in videos created by twelve year-olds!

My roommates and I used to use laundry hampers as helmets and throw pennies at each other. That was the semester I got pink eye three times!

I think those dolls are really cute. A commercial came on..a while back anyway, and I ran to write down what they were called and look them up online..my daughter asked if I was going to buy her one and I stammered "uh..what? oh..um..yeah, I thought maybe you'd like them" Ehhh she was on to me tho.
