Ooh not liking those pearls at all. But I do like her music!

wow. reminds me for all the world of an oatmeal facial.

in repose and close up, i thought it looked beautiful in an artistic way.

from a distance, grimacing and holding onto cyndi lauper (that *is* cyndi lauper, right?), i thought 'that's a look that should stay in the house.'

would give one heck of an exfoliation tho...

I don''t mind the pearls. It''s the TEETH that gross me out..

The second picture makes her look really cold!! Like... she''s an icicle ...

I am not hating on her I don''t think... and I listen to her music

Makes me wanna dance

I found my hand involuntarily flying to my face to scratch a non-existent itch...

I don''t understand her. She can actually sing--so why does she have to do the distracting "look at me! Look at me!" stuff that Madonna did. Madonna can''t sing so she has to reinvent herself all the time and put on the crazy show to distract people from the truth.

Madonna has managed to stay in the public eye for over 20 years, when many others have come and gone, so she must be doing something right.

I view Lady Gaga''s outfits more as wearable art or costumes, so I kind of enjoy how flamboyant they are!

My thoughts exactly! I love me some Gaga!

Well, I live in a cave, so I don''t know who she is or what she sings. That last picture looks like she was rolled in flour and the pearls look like where the flour clumped up on wet spots.

Here''s the whole look..

And it''s weird to think Cyndi Lauper was considered a little out there in our day, and now it seems so tame. I gotta wonder what will qualify for "out there" in the next generation?

HI:

Rah rah.....strong voice, plays instruments and writes her own lyrics. Has talent. Do I liike her do''s and get up''s? Entertaining.

cheers--Sharon

Am I the only one who thinks she looks like a Zombie would was buried in white sand and clawed her way out of her grave (and her dress didn''t make it). What is UP with that makeup?

The pearls, well.... just on her face Masie hit it on the head. The whole look: Zombie.

Okay, so we're all entitled to our opinions and I will be honest, I can see how many people think that she seeks attention. Instead of my going through and explaining why she dresses the way she does, I felt it would be better to let her explain it.

She did an interview with Barbara Walters and addressed this very topic. Here it is (skip to 3:40 if you don't care to watch the whole thing):

I like some of her music a lot, and she is most definitely talented. The costumes are kind of interesting and fun, but I think people will grow tired of her quickly. The same goes for Rhianna (sp?) and her crazy attention-getting outfits. They suit the videos, but when you constantly see them dressing like that in public, it becomes boring pretty quickly.

Exactly! I love Rihanna''s music too, but it''s like ok I get it, you''re edgy and tough. What else can you bring to the table?

Ha! Enjoy it while it lasts, T-gal, because your cave-dwelling days are numbered, although you may not, yet, know it! I went through the 1980''s without knowing a single popular group or singer. Also part of the 1990''s. Then my daughter took control of the radio dial in the car. Now I know every rap singer and have caught up on many of the 1980''s and 1990''s groups as well. (The ones that made it big and are still played.) Just wait until Amelia gets the radio under her control! You''ll hear Lady Gaga among the oldies!

I saw that interview, and really appreciated it. It gives an interesting insight into her.

I had never heard of her, until my Crazy Husband introduced me (he loves her, LOL).

ETA: Watch that interview and then listen to Bad Romance. There's more going on there than meets the eye. I read a breakdown of the song that basically places her/the media industry as the monster/bad romance. It's interesting.
