So I was just in the middle of some housework and upon entering the spare bedroom noticed that my dress had fallen from it''s hanging place onto the floor. I rescued it from its resting place and I have NO idea why but I found myself putting it on. It''s NO easy feat alone I can tell you. With a zipper, two bra strap like fastenings and a lace up back it was a struggle. I did it up first then wrestled myself into it overhead.

After prancing around in front of the mirror for a few minutes remembering my happy day I thought I should get out of it. Well, if getting into it was hard, then getting OUT of it was nigh on impossible. After a few minutes of struggling and panic thinking that maybe I would still be stuck in the dress like an idiot when my husband got home from work, I managed to get it loose enough to slide it down and off!

I know I have NO reason to wear the dress ever again, but I just felt SO fabulous in it that I wanted to try it again.

Have you ever been tempted, or taken the plunge and rescued it from its resting place to wear it and reminisce? Or am I the only saddo?

Am not married yet, but I think the probability is very high that I will not only put my dress on again after the wedding, I will probably get my hubs to be an accomplice and help lace me up and everything.

I want to soo bad but it is in it''s little box from the cleaners all nice and sealed! I am seriously considering doing something constructive with it like a Christening gown or a wedding dress quilt. It will never get used again for a wedding so I went to do something with it!

Ah see, mine is still filthy from the wedding. It needs to go to the cleaners. Once it is back and clean I probably won''t be taking it out to try on again. But till I get that job done it is just hanging in a duvet cast in the spare room. I''ve often gone in and taken it out just to admite it but putting it on was a whole other step for me.

Gwen - What a faaaaaab idea. I think I may get my hubby to help me next time! haha I anticipate fun times :P

Hell, I plan on prancing around the house like a princess in it. I will never wear it again and there is no way I am selling it. Might as well get some wear around the house.

Oh, I have. At least twice. Once in front of hubby. I felt no guilt or regret doing so, either. Live it up, I say!

I slid into mine once since I got married in 2005. As Merrymunky said, it''s no easy feat! I felt silly so I took it off rather quickly and it''s now balled up in a Rubbermaid container in the attic. Now that I''ve had a baby I don''t think I''ll ever be able to get into it again unless I have my hips shaved down

I still have to collect mine from the cleaners. I can imagine being tempted to put it on again though-I adore it.

I haven''t yet, but totally would!

Yes. Hubby and I actually went out to dinner in our wedding attire 5 months after we were married. He rented a tux again, and I wore my reception gown. It was lots of fun!

I like to wear it when DH is out of town. It makes movie watching so much more exciting.

nope, mine is boxed up and sealed.

Heh, I accidentally left the dress at the MIL''s place, but she''s bringing it down in a few weeks, and then I''m going to wear it to the Renaissance fair! It''ll make a great costume. :)

Then after that I''ll probably get it altered into a cocktail dress, which hopefully means I''ll get to wear it many more times!

I have a friend who wears hers several times a year. She puts it on for movie nights with the girls, anniversaries, or just sometimes when she''s home alone! She''ll throw up a picture of her in it on Facebook and it cracks me up every time! If you love your dress that much, I don''t see any reason not to wear it!

Nope, my dress is at my parents'' house and I''m not, so I couldn''t if I wanted to. But I think it would be fun to have a wedding dress party, where all your married girlfriends would come in their dresses and just have some fun, maybe watch some girly movies or something!

Yupp! When I re-packed it out of the box (there is a thread around here somewhere about that) I put it all on again. A friend of mine just got into wedding photography and wants to do a TTD session with me but 1) I''m a little nervous about it and 2)I can''t tell from her request if she wants to do it free for her portfolio or if she''s trying to get business from her friends, and well, that''s awkward. So, bottom line, I may or may not be putting it on again for photos sometime.

I made a mantilla veil for a friend that is getting married this weekend and I so totally put that sucker on to try it out with my gown. I was curious how that style would look compared to the more traditional style I wore at my wedding. I managed to make it three months so I think that''s pretty good! It felt awesome to have her on again. DH just about died when I told him about it though. Oh well, its my dress!

i tried my dress on 3 weeks ago with tons of force. lol i had my mom and dad shove me in it. I got it to zip but I totally gained 5 newly wed pounds lol

I''m guilty of trying mine on the day after we got back from our honeymoon.

I actually don''t even know what closet my dress is hanging in. I haven''t even sent it to the dry cleaners yet! :S

Yes! we got married in Belize with no guests...and my parents threw us a family reception a few months later so I totally got to rock my dress a second time! Whoo Hoooo!!!!

I would actually love to put it on, but my MIL had it preserved for me, and it was quite expensive, so I don''t want to break the seal and have to preserve it again. It actaully would be a little bit big on me, since I have recently lost a bit of weight.

I put mine on the week we got back from our honeymoon. I don''t want to get it cleaned yet because I think i want to wear it a few more times first. And let me tell you...it was hard to put on my myself!

Hehe. No. It''s stuffed away in a closet and although I thought I''d miss it terribly, I really haven''t had any desire yet to put it back on.

I''m actually planning on having mine shortened to knee length after the wedding and wearing it with a different colored sash--it will make an adorable cocktail dress!

Nope. But, I did do the laundry in my wedding shoes this weekend.

LOL!!!! Don''t blame you! Laundry, lounge around watching TV, getting the mail... I''d wear those anywhere!

I actually bought my wedding dress a year and a half before the wedding! I bought it to wear when I perform- I do gigs with symphony orchestras sometimes- but I never wore it! I thought it would be a lovely wedding dress, so I wore it for the first time for the wedding almost 3 weeks ago. I will Definitely wear it again- it was just a long gown from BCBG.
