Smurfy and HH- you both have beautiful skin!

I never, ever leave the house without makeup. I don''t have good skin, so I need it. It''s probably a vicious circle, though... I wear makeup to give myself better looking skink, but if I skipped the makeup for a long period of time, I bet my skin would look better!

It takes effort to convince myself that I can go to the gym without make-up on.

So no, I don''t usually leave w/out make up on. And lots of it!

I saw a commercial last night for a new neutrogena foundation that is supposed to improve your skin, have you ever tried that?

99% of the time, I don''t wear makeup. However, I have A TON of it and I love to play with it when I get bored. I rarely wear concealer/powder/etc. Here are some pics DF, even though YOU NEVER POST ANY MORE RECENT THAN THE ''70s OF YOURSELF.

Lots o'' eye makeup (somewhat photoshopped, but you get the idea).

Not today I don''t lol unfortunately today WAS a makeup day! If I use any sort of face cleaner besides water, my skin breaks out, I''m not sure why this is...I used it the other day because I cut my finger and couldn''t get the blood off my skin on my face any other way, I know, gross... lol

First of all, I love OPI polishes lol. I didn''t include nails in the makeup category. My nails are always done.

Second, I find makeup to be really intimidating. I once sat down for a makeup presentation and the lady literally told me ''if you are going to work, use these colors. If you want to go to a party, use these colors. If you are going to a GTG that has a more casual feel, use these colors with jeans or these colors with any other outfit''

It made me feel like I was reading the tax laws
14.gif
. I''ll take my black mascara and clear chapstick and call it a day lol
Yeah, I don''t put OPI in the makeup category. Mostly I mentioned them because having a huge collection looks so pretty up in my glass cabinet. My husband would keel over if he found out that I paid $7.50 a bottle. In fact I never added up the cost and freaked at how I''ve kind of wasted (since some of the colors look identical)! lol

Re: sales ladies. What she said is nonsense. Sounds like she was trying to get you to buy extra makeup. All I do differently for night eye makeup is put a darker color in the crease and add a bit more eyeliner (which I only wear on my top lids). Sometimes darker lipstick.

For me, I''ve found that specific colors work best for me. My skin is cool toned and I''m kind of pale, and have green eyes. I find that purples bring out the green and with that in mind, I just buy a variety of those. Some with subtle sheen and others with a bit of sparkle (like Nars Ondine). Oh, and the sparkle looks great for night - just a tad, of course. . .not glitter. lol Whenever I''ve had make overs, I''ve left the store looking like a freak! lol Once the sales gal decided to put one shade of foundation on one side and another shade on the other THEN she actually expected me to buy one of them!

I just got up and left.

Freke - love the look you posted in the first photo. I''ve tried doing funky colors but always look weird. Once, to my husband''s horror, I put on redish eyeshadow. Mac Cranberry - which is a popular shade but looked hidious on me.

<--------There is me with no makeup.

Now where is your picture DF?

I go out without make-up most days. Even a "5-minute face" takes forever when a 1 year old is tugging at your leg. Honestly, they are lucky I shower and brush my hair before going to work.
2.gif
Many days I sit in my office and do research or review or draft documents all day, so no need to get all gussied up.

I have dry skin, and foundation makes it look flaky and terrible. My daily routine is tinted moisturizer and tinted lip balm, both with sunscreen. I''ll add a coat of black mascara some days, but not always. For court, important client meetings and parties, I''ll add a little dark brown eye liner, neutral eyeshadow and blush.

Smurfy, Freke, and HH inspired me to look at my own makeup/no makeup comparison.
It''s a pretty dramatic difference--makes me think twice about going out without makeup.

Here''s the spectrum:
Left: Full-on makeup and hair done. This was on our honeymoon, I rarely wear that much makeup. DH bought me a bunch of new Mac eyeshadows and I had been playing around with it, DH liked the result, so I went out with it all on.
Middle: This is how I usually look. Typical makeup, hair pulled back.
Right: Thanksgiving day, no makeup, air-dried hair, less than three hours of sleep. (I had been cooking and prepping all night.)

I think you pull off all 3 looks great!!!!
*ot: I wish my hubby would buy me makeup

Freke, I think you need to post the orange eyeshadow one...hehe!

Not when I go to a morning yoga class or take the dogs to the dog park. But generally, no.

Lol! I don''t know where any of those might be. Do you have any?

(I have insane amounts of makeup on in our wedding pics, but those will have to wait...)

I always wear a bare minimum of tinted moisturizer with SPF (Clinique), and tinted lip balm (Bobbi Brown). I also groom my brows so my face looks neat. I wish I could be one of those women who never needs makeup, but I feel like I look sallow in the winter without it, and my skin can be blotchy and freckly, so I like that a little tinted moisturizer evens me out, and the tinted lip balm brightens my face so I don''t look so sallow.

This is similar to a question we had about a week ago with makeup being part of business casual dress code. I try not to leave the house without makeup because I would scare the heck out of everyone. I have extremely bad skin (undereye circles, melasma, blemishes). So, even when I go food shopping I put a bit of concealer on to hide the really bad looking stuff. Even when I work out, I wear makeup because it has sunscreen in it, and I often jog outside. I can''t wear regular sunscreen because it drips in my eyes when I sweat and stings really badly.

OK I found pics as well. Left no makeup - morning of wedding so clean face before I went to the makeup artist.

Right is a pic from our trash the dress shoot. I did my makeup, but it really isn''t much, just eyeshadow, eyeliner and lip tint.

I''m a teacher with absolutely no one to impress who has to wake up to early most mornings to bother lol, the only thing I never go without is chapstick, on a good day I''ll wear mascara, on a really good day I''ll use a foundation, powder, a little blush and maybe some eyeshadow with my mascara, for the most part I don''t bother.

I usually wear make up to go out but wont bother if it''s to exersize or it''s just a short trip.

Usually it''s: sunscreen, concealer, brow pencil, mascara and powder to take the shine off from the sunscreen.

If I feel a little less lazy then I might add a bit on nutral shadow, brow bone highligher, blush and lip gloss

My mum got me some great make up for Christmas so I''ve been going a bit ape $%#@ playing with it on nights out. It means several colours of shaddow are added (tastefully blended of corse), eye liner, cheak contour, lip liner and stain....usually no foundation still. I''ve found playing with all the new stuff really fun and it''s so different to see me all made up! I like it

Aw, thanks Smurfy and HH!

I would kill for a complexion like either of yours, ladies.

I wear it on Wednesdays when I work, or if we''re going someplace, like shopping or out to eat. If I''m going to the grocery store, or taking London to school, no. My skin in no way shape or form looks like the skin of the beautiful women who have shared their before/after photos! Even tho I''ve been wearing mineral makeup, I still don''t like to wear it when I''m just sitting around at home. (partially b/c it''s expensive)

I leave the house all the time w/o makeup. I''m a huge collector of makeup, I love getting something new everytime we''re out because like MC said, I''m just drawn to the cute containers, etc. That doesn''t actually translate to the cute makeup being worn though! DH has learned to not even mention it when I buy something new
41.gif

All the time! And no, I WILL NOT post a pic!!!!

I''m not posting any pictures but out of 30 days I put make up on for maybe 2.

haha I can''t believe you got some girls to indulge you ;) I think they''re good examples of less is more as they are all at least if not more beautiful bare faced :)

I gave up on foundation - all of it is too dry on my face except the heavy cream stuff for dry skin and that''s like a mask. My skin isn''t perfect but I think it''s better than looking like an escapee from a wax museum!

When I wear makeup I wear lip liner, lipstick, eye liner, and mascara. I would consider the cream blush but I don''t want to buy every shade to find the right one. Eyeshadow makes me look overdone. I use the mascara for blue eyes and I LOVE it. It is kind of a grey color and it''s not as intense on my eyes as BLACK but I am not a brown person - I don''t have brown hair, brown brows -nothing is brown so the brown mascara looks silly on me.

I go out without makeup on frequently. I mostly only wear it if there''s a special occasion or I need a little boost in the morning.

(L to R): No makeup (out for a hike with A); Normal makeup when I had short hair; Halloween this year with a little extra makeup.

Wear very little makeup, maybe some mascara, shadow, and gloss- that''s it. . Rely on fresh fruit, vegetables and lots of water- I like to be very natural, don''t fight aging, just be healthy and happy.

ok, I don't know how to attach multiple pics, so bare with me... one of me with no make-up, one I think I have on vasoline, dunno if that counts, but I am obsessed with having non-dry lips! It hurts!
14.gif
The other I have posted before, and it's heavy makeup, but gives a big contrast. I almost never wear make-up unless I am going to work or to some event. Even then, it's more of a small accent of lips/eyes with a brown or purply pencil, and some gloss. Very understated. If I travel and forget my make up bag, I just buy a brown pencil and bonne belle lip gloss

Seriously...

I don't have great skin, and I can look really fab with a good makeup job, but I never learned to do it well, or to care much. I went to an all girl's high school, so I blame them. My mom, on the other hand, wears lipstick around the house.
