Wedding Krissie''s shower thread!

I had my first bridal shower 2 weekends ago, and it was so lovely! This was my local, friends shower, hosted by two of my bridesmaids. I have 2 more showers coming up - one with my parents'' friends this coming weekend in Kentucky, and then another with my extended family in Indiana in August. I am honestly overwhelmed by the generosity and eagerness of family and friends to host these showers! I never would have imagined it.

So I figured I would start a shower thread

My friend shower was great - just my best local girlfriends sitting around, drinking wine and eating chicken salad. We even had my favorite -- carrot cake! My mom was able to attend - she flew in from Indiana. This was a really special day for me; all the gifts were SO "Krissie" including my favorite - a Tory Burch tote that I can use on our honeymoon! Hurrah!

My most "whimsical" gift -- a set of martini "Stallion" glasses. Being from Kentucky, I take my horse racing seriously. Among other gifts, my bridesmaid could not pass on getting me horse martini glasses that actually BLINK. What a hoot!

Like I said, my mom was able to attend. It was so neat! I think we look alike here.

Shower fashion-wise, I wore a Nanette Lepore bright orange dress, with matching bright orange wedges from Ann Taylor. It was a bit over the top, but I knew that it would be perfect for a party with my girlfriends!

Will update with news and pics of Shower 2 when we return from Kentucky!

Thank you, ladies!! I love looking back at pics from the shower and just smiling, because I''m so goofy and happy in all of them. I think the next 2 will be a bit more formal because they''re with parents'' friends and family, so I''ll probably be on better behavior, too

This is when the wedding process gets fun!!
