So life has been a bit hard on my poor little kitty Lanes, but today we had some great news!
She doesn't have melanoma! The results of the first test were wrong. Our vet found a growth in her ear a few weeks ago and sent a sample to be checked by histology. They came back saying it was melanoma so we did full body x-rays to check for tumors and nothing showed up. So we got a referral to the animal hospital for further tests and an ultrasound and CT both came back clean. The hospital suggested another biopsy before surgery and while they were doing it the dermatologist used a laser to remove the entire growth. They just called with the biopsy results and they're clear! It was just a cyst!
So she has to go back in for a checkup in a few weeks, but then we can put everything behind us. Yey!
