Saw this post from Dolly (xothebijouxbox) - a client returned a ring and unfortunately just stuck it in a padded envelope. It was stolen out of her mailbox! Though a long shot she’s asking for ppl to keep an eye out in case they see it in eBay or the like. Post and pic of ring in link:

So scary. Exactly what I’m afraid of every time. Last time FedEx guy delivered a Dolly ring to me and left it out by the garage despite signature required... I made sure to call the supervisor to say that’s not ok. We were home, cars parked but he didn’t even bother ringing the bell. We had a trusted contractor walking about our property (he didn’t ask the contractor to sign either) but could have ended badly.

Happened to me in November with FedEx; diamond ring with signature required and they left it on my porch!! I think bc of Covid some workers aren’t taking the signatures despite the requirement. It even said signed for by customer- um no!!

@Mreader I had that happen to me earlier this year as well. Fedex just left the package on my porch and didn't even try to hide it out of plain sight. It's really awful and if I ever do it in the future I'd pick up from the depot. Even when requesting signatures I don't think Fedex do due to covid.

P.s. just an after thought for Dolly anyway, if the thieves found a valuable diamond ring this time, I think they will watch her mailbox like a hawk. Maybe time to get a locked mailbox.

I ask for “hold at location” now and I pick it up.

I had the same thought. She has such a presence on Insta that I imagine neighbors etc. know what she does now.

That is awful, I hope it was sent fully insured. Just terrible

I hate to say this, but the people who work in her local post office probably know more than anyone that she deals in jewelry. I can't prove it but back in the day when I was buying a lot of jewelry and selling my old stuff I got a very weird vibe from a postal worker. Shortly after, a package I sent worth $1400 went missing. The tracking started and ended with the local post office.

I hope Dolly is made whole with the insurance and nothing like this happens to her again.

Were you able to get your $$ back @lisalovesshiny? Dolly thinks it was the distribution center. I mean the worker put the open envelope in her box! Crazy!

Having anything stolen is such a violation. But if it ends up being a delivery worker who did it...it's like, who can we trust then??

I know :( But the sender didn’t ship insured or signature required. Doing those two things would have been a preventative measure at least. Ugh so awful. I’m always nervous about this happening especially lately since I’ve been having projects done.

Yes but I had to jump through hoops. It was insured and when I went to make a claim at the post office I was told the only person who handled that was on vacation. I waited. Then more excuses. Finally I made a big stink and the postal supervisor came to my house to have me sign the paperwork which I thought was extremely odd.

Then after that I sent a spinel back to a reputable overseas vendor and it got "lost". How does registered mail get lost? I am not even going in to the nightmare that was and I was out $500.

She needs a PO Box ASAP. I don’t know how these instasellers aren’t more worried about sharing so much info and mailing or keeping inventory at their homes.

who is stuck with the loss in this case, the sender or the seller?

I saw that on IG too. So sad...and such a lovely ring! I'm surprised that she didn't tell the buyer that she needed to insure it
on the way back.

Hope it turns up....
