Still no sign of my cat :(( - has been almost 9 weeks now since he went missing. I still miss him terribly, but I don't like the chances of ever getting him back.

Have been checking the Lost Animal homes on a weekly basis, had a few phone calls from concerned people to see if he has returned. Anyway, who knows, I can only hope that if somebody has stolen him that he is safe and happy.

I want to thank everyone who sent their good advice and well wishers, I won't bother to mention you all, but you know who you are. We cat people stick together :wavey:

Oh Monnyjay, I am so so sorry. :((
I pray that he is safe and will return to you soon. Sending good vibes and big (((hugs))) your way dear.

:(sad I'm so sorry. I, too hope that somehow he's being well-cared for in another home.

I am sorry. Praying for a miracle and he comes back soon.

MonnyJay I'm really sorry to hear this.

I'm really sorry for your loss. My kitty was lost for 5 1/2 to 6 weeks and I got her back. It was the most traumatic time and grieving was tough. I hope your kitty finds her way home or to a loving family.

Awful awful - poor you! That's very distressing for you. I really feel for you.

Oh that's too bad:( Our kitty Sammycat disappeared about 6 months after we had moved from NYC to FL and was gone for over two months!!!! . We were certain she was gone for good. Then one morning we heard mewing outside the lanai door and there he was!! Looking a little bedraggled and with a noticeable nick in her ear she just sauntered past my husband and into the house went directly under my bed and stayed there for about 24 hours and came out and was fine! She died last year at the ripe old age of 23!!! The oldest cat my vet had ever treated. Dust for a safe return of your kitty

Monnyjay, that is such sad news your cat has not yet returned. I hope he is somewhere safe and being loved by someone, before he decides to return to you. Fingers crossed that is the situation!

oh Enerchi this reminds me of the children's story Charlie Anderson, a tale of a cat that simultaneously lived with two families. One thought he was an outside kind of pet and the other that kept him in for the night! When I was media specialist we used to read it to the kids especially when we heard about a divorce!

Maybe your kitty found a temp home like Charlie and will be back soon!!!

So sorry to hear this, Monny. But I'm still hoping for a good outcome.

Oh Monnyjay, I'm sorry :(sad
Tons and tons of ::hugs:: coming your way.

Hi everyone, once again thank you for your kind wishes. The hardest thing is not knowing where my little mate is, all I can wish for is that he is safe somewhere. I have had him for over 9 years now and he is dearly missed :(( My daughter has a new little kitten and she is a sweetie, black like Louis but long hair. It's funny with cats, you never get two the same, they all have individual personalities.

You never know he might come back, we can only hope.

I'm glad your daughter has a new kitten - it will never replace Louis, but it can help ease the loss. I hope he returns to you soon. I couldn't imagine the uncertainty - you lean one way, then you lean the other... that's the part that hurts the most, the not knowing, at least for me it would be the hardest part.

True isn't it, how pets are all unique, just like us "people" are! Just like Kenny says... people vary! (We can add "pets vary" to that!)

Hugs.

GUESS WHO'S BACK, MY BEAUTIFUL BOY LOUIS =) =) =)

Didn't know whether or not I should start a new thread. For all of you who are interested........ he is sleeping beside me on the chair whilst I am writing and snoring  very content I imagine.

As you know he has been missing for almost 9 weeks, I last checked in on Friday, just to update everyone that he still hadn't returned. I thought I would never see him again at that stage. Today I was tidying up some paperwork in the kitchen and found some of the flyers I had posted all around the local area, I had a few left over and they were in a pile of other stuff on the kitchen bench. I kept thinking where could he be, a cat just disappear off the face of the earth. Deep down I had a feeling was okay and maybe someone had him.

Anyway, we were all sitting down to dinner (minus my daughter who was out with friends and not too far away at the local shops). My phone rang and it was my daughter and she said Mum, does Louis have a black collar with diamentes and a big cat bell on it, because I think I just saw him. Well my heart sunk, she was walking home past a child care centre and he was in the driveway of a block of apartments just next door.

We raced down there and sure enough it was him. My daughter wasn't sure at first because he was a lot fatter than normal and very spaced out. I picked him and said where have you been you naughty boy, amongst all the tears. I still feel like I am dreaming, we can't believe he has been so close to home (approximately about a 5 minute walk, on the same side of street we live on. Obviously, I don't know if he has been in that location the whole time. He could have been chased by a dog or someone has had him locked in and that is where he has ended up, possibly disoriented and confused about where he was. He was very dazed, otherwise quite okay.

I fed him and gave him some milk (it has to warmed in the microwave) and by the way he scoffed it down, he had not eaten for a while.

I am going to go back to where my daughter found him and see if anyone can give me some info. I would thank whoever it was for feeding him, because he is not skin and bone by any means.

I still can't believe he is back and as you can imagine he is being very spoilt.

I just want to thank everyone once again for all your well wishers, dust and hugs - it just may have helped in bringing him back. :wavey: :wavey:

I have been trying to upload a pic of him but it won't work - I have a Mac so don't know if that's the problem? Anyway I will keep trying =)

I have tears in my eyes reading this. There are so many stories where it never works out. I'm happy your baby is home. I think you should have started a new thread! I think other PS ers would want to know and might miss this. Your cat deserves to be spoiled!

What great news! I'm so happy to hear he's safe and sound!

Thank's Allycat and Lulu, I still can't believe he is home.

At the moment he is still sitting beside me on the chair and little Charlie has just jumped up too, bit of jealousy going on here right now I think.

Crazy kitties ..... :wavey:

GREAT NEWS!!!! Sounds like he was HYPNOTIZED by a never-ending plethora of yummables from someone or somewhere. I mean, I'd probably set up camp outside the fro yo place if I could get unlimited freebies. So glad you were able to find him, break the spell & get him back home to a sensible diet!

WHAT WONDERFUL NEWS!!!!!

:appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl:

Oh yay! The longest any of my kitties has gone missing is about 2 days and I was a nervous wreck every time, they just got locked into someone's garage, I can't imagine one of my babies being gone for 9 weeks!

Fantastic news for a Monday morning!!!!!!

Many years ago, my family had a cat that lived the 'sweet life' too. He was away for a week or two and then trotted back home as if nothing was unusual at all. He stayed for awhile and then he was off again. We found out later that he 'lived' a double life with the neighbours at the end of our block. What a cad!!

OMG!!!! That's AMAZING!!! I'm so happy for you, Monnyjay!! Nothing could be more thrilling than seeing his little face again - your daughter must have been stunned to just see him trot in front of her... wow!!!

I had goosebumps reading that story! After his nap, you just wake him up and demand to know where he's been--- we all want to know! Never mind he only speaks "cat", we want the deets!!!

Ohhhh Monny that's FANTASTIC NEWS!!!!

This totally made my day  I'm so happy he's home and healthy!! He must be so relieved to be safe again! And I'm quite sure he'll gain back every ounce he lost

WoW! I almost stopped reading because I was so sad and then I got to your post about finding Louis and I was just crying big tears of happiness and relief for you and your sweet Louis. You must be so relieved. This is just the best news! :appl: :appl:
