Wedding Just a nice story i thought i''d share ......

I have been stressing about what I''m going to do for a veil. My gown was $800 (i wanted to spend $500) LOL i know funny right?
anyway, so my gown was $800 Maggie Sottero LOVE it. and the veil i tried on at the bridal shop was $185! crystals, beading, beautiful! matching perfectly with my maggie.
but too much for my budget

So i have been stressing --- do i really want to spend $185 on a veil that i''ll only wear at the chapel and for the first dance (as i''ll probably take it off after that).?
sooooooooo i have been looking on ebay and asking friends their thoughts.
My fiance says i should just spend the money but this whole wedding is costing us way more than we had originally planned.

ANYWAY - so i found a few on ebay but the beading looked kind of cheesy so then i thought i would just go with a plain 2T white finger tip length veil -
I found this one woman selling one for $25 plus $14 shipping. I emailed her to make sure it was White and not diamond white and then asked a few questions about it. I explained to her my dilemma -- I guess she bought the veil for her daughter in law but then the DIL decided to get a different one with more beading or something and she couldn''t return it so she''s been storing it for several months. I ended up NOT bidding on it as i still can''t decide if i want my dream beaded one for $185 or what.

sooooo she emailed me the other day and wrote, you inquired about the veil i had listed but never bid on it and now the listing is expired.
I would like to send it to you - no strings attached - hopefully it will work with your gown, im not doing anything with it but storing it here, would you like it?

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? I Responded thank you 1000 times! so she mailed it to me FOR FREE. its coming this week! HOW NICE IS THAT????????

I really do plan on wearing the veil - whether I add beads / crystals or not.
I can''t believe she offered to just send it to me, just telling the story makes me feel so good inside, ok im a dork but still - i just can''t believe it.
I mean, fiance and i are paying for it all on our own, we are struggling, and i just can''t believe her kindness! i feel so lucky and everytime i tell the story i just glow.
Nice people ARE still out there, and i honestly plan on finding someone that will use my veil and dress and I hope i can help them in the same way she helped me!
I thought sharing this story here would bring a little joy to the site, most posts lately are stressed, panicky, etc.
Except when someone posts wedding pics (of course)!!!! we all love to see happy brides! YAY

What a great story. Not to threadjack but I had something similar happen recently, though not wedding related. I am in a garden seed messenger email group and a woman had advertised that she had cantaloupe seeds if anyone wanted them. I emailed her and sent her ten dollars for shipping. She sent my check back along with the cantaloupe seeds AND pepper, tomato, squash, pumpkin, and several other varieties of seeds. She said she couldn''t accept such a generous shipping amount, and people like me made people like her happy to help out!
