Jewelry-inspired tattoo!

My dad was visiting us for the first time in 2 years, and my husband was coming home from the hospital with a diagnosis after his fourth trip... I felt like celebrating! (And I had the week off to do something fun!) So... I got my first tattoo! I waited 10 years to decide what I really wanted, and now that I have one and LOVE it, I know it won't be my last!

I got a book of Art Nouveau jewelry designs and had the artist do a line drawing. He then freehanded the shading, colors, etc while doing the tattoo. Pretty sweet.

Oh, that's gorgeous - I've been planning something similar, and it's wonderful to see how it looks in the flesh. Love the shading - they really do look like moonstones!

i'm in the planning stages.....i many move away from my original thoughts and go with a more jewel inspired design!

My husband loves the tattoo, though he was initially surprised by it! I'm thinking of adding some dangling chains to it that would 'drape' across my back with varying pendants and lavaliers - so I could be demure and show the top one, or wear a sexy backless dress and show off my "jewelry box"!
