Is there such a thing? Does anybody know?

I'm spending a few days at these places at the end of the week and I thought I'd ask if there are jewellery districts there. If so, could you suggest stores that I should check out?

Thanks.

Nada in Frankfurt, sorry :( The closest thing they have is their version of 5th avenue on goethe strasse

Thanks. Any info on Rotterdam?

I have no idea about the jewelry districts, sorry, but mayerling does your name have to do with Empress Elisabeth of Austria? I was just in Vienna for the weekend and Mayerling is a movie with Omar Sharif and Catherine Deneuve about her life.

Are you Austrian?

(Sorry if I'm too nosy...)

Nope, not Austrian ;)

But that is where I got my username. I saw that movie as a child and loved it, named my cat after the castle, and visited the place when I visited Austria.

Cool! I had never heard of the movie until seeing some posters in the Empress Elisabeth Museum this WE.

Sorry nada, I lived in Frankfurt for 2 years which is the only reason I know- I was super bored and knew the city like the back of my hands

Oh, that doesn't bode well for me. I have to spend one of the days there by myself while FI attends conference meetings.

No no for one day there is PLENTY to do!! Just when you live there it can get dull. The old city is cute and great, the stadl is nice as is walking along the main. The food is yummy all over Germany! The botanical gardens are huge and beautiful and great for passing time!

Great! I guess I'll have to make do without bling for a while, but I'm glad there's other things to do. Though an issue might be to do the less interesting things by myself and save the nice things for the days when FI doesn't have to work.
