has anyone else seen this train wreck of a show? it''s scary how these " adults" act.

It''s a hot mess...that''s for sure. Like a poor mans Real World or something. The cast is a bunch of d-bags who think they are "hot" when in reality they are DISGUSTING beyond words. Could you ever imagine attacted to someone like that??? And yet, they must not see that within themselves...the guys were lip gloss, the girls are overtly sexual. It''s like a cesspool of human waste.

It is an embarrassment all the way around for everyone involved...parents, MTV, the "cast", and those that advertise on the show. A whole new low for reality TV.

It is sooo bad and I''m usually a guilty fan of reality trash TV. The bad thing is I live in NJ and the Jersey Shore includes some charming and classy towns (not to mention beautiful streches of beach/boardwalk that don''t all include blinking lights), but MTV chose the worst of the worse (a not so great shoretown and then chose the worst crowd to document!).

I feel gross after watching one episode.. so think that''s it for me!

Yes a hot mess indeed!! I could only watch a few minutes!!!!

Honestly, they''re just like all of the guidos/guidettes I know. Luckily I know more awesome people from Jersey than I know people like that, but it''s seriously crazy...

Haha, I love it! I went to get my hair cut last Friday and all of the girls at the salon were talking about it. It''s such a train wreck, but I can''t stop watching. I think it''s especially funny if you live in the east and actually run into people like that on a regular basis.

Exactly. Makes me embarrassed to live in NJ. But when I go "down the shore" I go to a multi-million dollar beachfront home in Manasquan. Not "Sleaz-side". There are very beautiful, "old money" areas in NJ, but its shows and people like this that give it a bad rep. When I am out of state and I say I am from Jersey, its like "oh, dirty jerz?". lol

I haven''t watched the show, but heard that not one person from the cast is actually from NJ. I believe they are all from Staten Island. Regardless, of course they pick the worst of the worst in terms of town & people to portray NJ.

Living in NJ, I don''t care if other people think it''s gross - NJ is actually a beautiful place to live with a lot to offer, but very crowded. If shows like this keep people from moving here, that means more room for the people who already live here :).

And yeah, Sea Side is nasty anyway. I went there after prom and heard gun shots from my hotel room - haven''t been back since. I''ll stick to Monmouth county beaches thank you!

Nothing will ever compare to Tommy and his cheeseballs.

Yep. I managed til the second ad - about fifteen minutes.

I am embarrassed to admit that I watched this last week. That''s two hours of my life I''ll never get back!
Really though, the show is an embarrassment to everyone on it (and their parents)
I did think it was funny that nobody could get Snookie''s name right, they kept calling her Snickers, Shnookers, Shnookie, etc.

Urg..... stuff like that really annoys me. I live in NJ and it isn''t like that at all, but that is the stereotype. A jersey girl isn''t like that. There are some beautiful beaches and really historic towns. Urg.

Hahahahahahahha....same here. I''m from NJ and can honestly say I have seen people like that in the flesh. Luckily like princess, I know far more normal people from Jersey :)

Ugh, my sister told me to watch Jersey Shore. I watched for two minutes and had to change the channel. I''m not a fan!

This show is creating quite a buzz. I hear about it everywhere. People at work are talking about it, its on the radio, and now here. The first time I heard about it was on the E channel. I love that channel and Joel Mchale was making fun of the fist pumping. I must say that I am a fan of train wrech shows. I just love ''em. What day and time? I have got to see this.

For people who haven''t see it, you can access the show at mtv.com. Click on Shows and then Jersey Shore. There are two episodes up and I am in the middle of episode 1.

I must say that the My New Haircut video on YouTube (went viral a couple of years ago) is pretty much on target.

WARNING- Not suitable for kids. Video has a good amount of swearing in it.

My New Haircut

I was interested in this show because I grew up in Monmouth County. I watched the first episode with my boyfriend (who grew up in Scottsdale). I wanted to turn it off after 5 minutes. My boyfriend kept watching, because he was laughing at NJ and these freaks. Not cool in my opinion! This is will just reinforce people''s stereotypes, but did I ever expect more from MTV?

Exactly! I met my now DH in Spring Lake (upscale town with gorgeous beaches and no chees) during the day completely sobe--but I''m worried when I mention the word Jersey Shore, people will picture this ridiculous show! Still everyone is talking about it so MTV is probably thrilled.

I watched that last night for the 1st time, reminded me of the 80s! Those guys should stop puffing their chests out and do a reality check!!

I''ve only caught the first episode so far, but some/most/all of the people on the show are nasty! There was a couple of times where I literally had to look away from the TV because I was so grossed out!

Ha, I saw it was on while I was going through the channels today, and I had to watch it because everyone keeps talking about it. It was so gross and embarrassing I could only watch it for about 3 minutes. I had to change it when one of the girls (in a pink lace bustier top) was "dancing" with a guy by gyrating on a table while he groped her and kissed her bejeweled bellybutton ring. Disgusting.
