I never under stood the purpose of this other than to waste time and cause a circus atmosphere.

Is it ever productive? And what can one possibly say for 13 hours that would even be relevant.

I do not oppose protest when it is peaceful.

But not when it shuts down anyone else's ability to speak.

And to answer someone else, yes technically it was the filibuster before the filibuster.

Yes, because any exercise of your democratic rights is just a 'waste of time'.
And you are correct, it was not actually a filibuster, since his intent was not to delay, but to inform/persuade.

That is another democratic right we have, the ability to disagree.

And again I do not see the whole purpose of the 15 hours - as it does not take that long to inform, and as far as persuading, I would call it browbeating.

I must have misunderstood this direct quote from your OP

Not sure what you are responding to, but if you are referring to Rice many lawyers are coming out agreeing with him. And since it happened, Schiff has been very silent.

As far as the highlighted part what does it have to do with Trump as it pertains to this thread which is my feelings about filibusters.
