Yup...So have i...I took the decision when i turned thirty and that was seven years ago...In the mean time, i met DH and now i decided that he will live forever too...Only, i'm afraid that the prospect of spending eternity with me must seem pretty frightening to him

I decided that I wanted to live forever when I had Amelia. Then I looked at what old really seems to feel like (health issues) and I changed my mind.

Yes, that's a good point - I don't want to live for ever (or even to a ripe old age) if my quality of life is poor.

I think I'm dealing with the right DNA, though. My grandmothers and great grandmothers lived into their 90s in good health. They remain sharp and alert mentally, and probably fitter than I am now. They tended to die suddenly, or of illness, rather than anything age related. My grandmother had a brain aneurysm in her 90s, for example. She died six hours after first feeling "a bit unwell."

I may prove to be indestructible, if the live-for-a-long-time gene gets stronger in each generation...

Have you told God this? Coz I tried it already and he's not all that keen on the notion. Some grumbling about the planet being too crowded already and did I think it was so easy to make another inhabitable planet blah blah blah...

The vast majority of people already take their life and the various beautiful ugly heartrenching moments of existence for granted, stomping them into mudanity. Living forever will just make it worse.

Seriously my wish is to talk to animals.

Even in good health I don't want to live forever -- after several decades you see the same junk over & over. I'm curious about what comes next -- I hope it's a place where I can meet Abe Lincoln, Gens. Grant & Sherman, & John Candy.

Really? My great grandma live to be more than one hundred. She had no mind left. She once told me I would make a good wife for my grandpa. I was 12.

I'm thinking old age will be great, but I don't really want to live past my mind. I have the capacity to do so.
