DH needs to get a part to fix our noisy toilet. He researched the problem and found the name of the part he needs. Now he’s hoping that God has mercy on him and makes it so he doesn’t have to ask an employee for help finding the part. What’s the name of the part, you ask? A ballcock

Heeheeheeheehee! Some evil person must have made up that name knowing that someone at some point would have to walk up to a hardware store employee and ask: "Sir/Ma''am, I''m looking for a ballcock. Do you know where I can find one?"

LOL! I used to work at Home Depot. Plumbing has all kinds of ridiculous names for stuff. We had some guys who worked the phones who loved paging about caulk.

Reminds me of the time I needed a screw in nipple for a vacuum line for my car.
Go to the auto parts store and there was a lady behind the counter wearing no bra and the air conditioning was on.
No way was I going to ask her for a screw in nipple in a crowded store.

Niiice! I had a hard enough time when I was living at home and helping dad hook up hoses to drag out to the flowers..he said to take the female end and head out to the long bed..I stood there staring at him like Whaaaa? He was ticked b/c he was clear across the acreage yard and had to stomp all the way back to explain it to me.
