I don't know what I would do if my former friend moved a couple doors down other than avoid her like the plague. I have one of these and we live in a small town. We haven't spoken in 10 years and I have no idea how I have never run into her all this time. Her ex is DH's closest friend but we had to cut them loose because she is crazy. About 6 years ago he showed up at our house the day after Christmas asking if he could stay with us for awhile because he left her. We hadn't seen either of them in at least 3 years. Now we are besties with him and his new wife. She's not crazy.
