As many of you know our wedding is not until May 30, 2009! My fiance and I have been looking at wedding invitations for about 1 month now and finally found some invites we love love love (something like pic attached). The stationary store is having a sale, and to top it off it is tax-free weekend in Boston this Saturday and Sunday. On over $1000 worth of invites it makes a difference!

We were thinking about ordering our invites now, especially since my amazing fiance is going to do the calligraphy for the addresses and return addresses on the envelopes and wants to get started. However, we are wondering if we are crazy to be doing it so early! The time of the wedding is set, however we have not met with the catering to taste entreees. We are planning to have a seafood and beef entree so is it ok to just write seafood entree and beef entree for choices on the reply card?

here is something like our invte, we are using this patern for the outside of our envelofold

I don''t think you are crazy as long as absolutely nothing can change. And as long as you can keep them in a place where they will not get ruined or damaged until then.

Could you order the reply cards later? I say go for it with the invites as long as the date, time and place are set.

When you do the tasting you might be surprised at what you like, I was certain we would have a steak and seafood option - nixing the chicken dish, BUT when we did the tasting the stuffed chicken breast was out of this world and so we ended up with beef tenderloin and the stuffed chicken.... just my 2 cents!

hmmm. I guess we could order separately but we would miss out on this deal. Also, there are only 2 chicken options- chicken picata and greek chicken, neither of which we anticipate will outdo some of the amazing other options in seafood and steak. I really don''t think anything will change so we should be ok.... hopefully!

I would still hold off. Unexpected things happen at the last minute, and what may be a saving now... might become a liability close to the date. I had to switch venues 3 months till my wedding and halted my invites at the printers, I know people who have had other things happen with thier venues, or in their personal life that have made it necessary to change things that impact their invites. I, personally, would hold off.

Can you just buy the stock and not get them printed right now?
