I am REALLY not a fan of the filtering of words on forums like this....we don't get alot (if any!) vulgarity here and it ends up chopping up posts and looking ridiculous in the end. Any way to just filter out words that stand on their own...e.g. if someone said pula on their own as opposed to manipulate. Otherwise it just seems foolish to have this mutilating our posts.




Also, I ran a dictionary search online for p u l a and it doesn't appear to be a bad word other than some foreign currency so I am at a total loss!

Oh. You must realize that where I live, that slang/slur is not something commonly used at all. I would have *never* thought of THAT.

I mean, I *really* had to give that some thought.

Well, I grew up in the South, so it was obvious to me. But I agree with Mara that filtering words containing "bad" words as part of their spelling is unnecessary. I think it's probably just a bug the programmers overlooked.

Naive or maybe just lucky.

Where I came from, it was the equivalent of the "n" word. If it's since died out, I'm not shedding any tears.
