Something Musincy aksed about undergarments sparked another undergarment question I have.

For those w/ a corset gown did you are do you plan in wearing a bra? I am fairly well endowed and I tried on the dress w/ a strapless bra and with one of those strapless bras that cover your stomach area as well. Then, the lady in the shop had me try it on w/o a bra at all and she laced me in and the girls were in place and not going anywhere. I m really picky about how my girls look and if they move around or jiggle at all...I even wear a shelf bra tank top to bed...Anyway, I felt very secure and comfortable sans a bra w/ the corset.

I have not started the alteration process, but I was told to have my shoes and undergarments before I go for alterations, so, is it weird not to wear a bra w/ a corset dress? If it is, do you have suggestions on what I should shop for or try on prior to alterations?

I think braless is perfectly fine if your dress already holds you in and gives you support/coverage, etc. I actually want to put bra cups in my dress so I don''t have to worry about undergarments. Well, on top anyway!

No bra for me. I am also quite busty and a bra won't do anything the top of my dress isn't already doing. Besides, bras ALWAYS seem to shift and I don't want to be fidgeting around with it.

For girls who are tiny up top, I really recommend having those cup thingies sewn in! In high school my boobies were small and for my prom/homecoming gowns I needed a bra just to give me some curves! I had cups sewn in whenever possible so I didn't have to fuss with my bra all night and they always looked great!

I went bra-less. My dress wasn''t a corset but was very thick and held me in pretty well.

I had light cups sewn into my corset top. It was just enough to make me feel more secure.

Not weird, I had cup sewn in but I have a modest bust. Do what is comfortable to you and it is always fun to tease FI... "sshhh, I''m going commando under my dress" lol

Im so glad you posted this question. I have a maggie sottero with a corset back and i have been wondering the same thing. Im glad to read im not alone in thinking about going bra=less. YAY! i love PS.
and the idea of going commando is cool too, my husband to be would LOVE THAT! LOL

Another bra-less bride here! The dress will be so tight anyway, why add the discomfort of a strapless?

I''m going braless, definitely.

If you are more well endowed, wear a bra - I didn''t and totally regretted it. I wear a 34DD, and was wearing a strapless silk gown, with a corset sewn in. I was also told that I wouldn''t need a bra, and it seemed to hold me up in the fittings.

But during my wedding day, I wore no bra for the pics with my family (before the ceremony) and the silk started to stretch and my boobs were no longer so firmly held in place. We were in Bermuda, destination wedding, so I didn''t even have a backup strapless bra with me. Thank God for my maid of honor - she lent me her strapless bra, even though it was only a C cup, with that and the sewn in corset it held me together pretty well through the ceremony & the rest of the pics.

But I still feel sad that I hate all the frist pics the photographer took, and that I was never totally comfortable the whole day - plus, with the ill-fitting bra that I was lent, I felt like the dress never looked as good as it should have. I still feel upset when I think about it

The moral of the story is even if you are comfortable without, take a back-up bra just in case things change, stretch, weather tuns cold, etc.

I second the idea of bringing a back-up bra just in case...especially if you decide at some point you want to loosen the corset a bit. Make sure your MOH or whomever will be tying you up can get you feeling secure enough to go without your bra.

A friend of mine wore no bra on her wedding day (although she had a haltar top which did not fit as well as a corset top) standing straight upright she looked fine - however if she leaned over to talk to a guest or leaned to either side (as she did in several photos) her chest moved with her.

True dat. I say skip it, since you're comfortable without it. (Plus, you can hint to your new DH during the reception...)

ETA: apparently I'm not the only one with a slightly dirty mind.
