Do you have one? Do you want one? How do you like it? Do you use it a lot? What do you use it for?
My mom brought her new toy when she came to visit and I''m fascinated with it! I''d love one for my birthday in July maybe so I dropped a few hints to dh

Well, my friend fought off a would-be mugger to keep hers, so I''m going to go out on a limb and say she likes it.

Haha wow!

DH got me one for Christmas. I didn''t even know what it was, lol! We actually just got our wireless router hooked up this past weekend, so I can finally use all the features! So far, I''ve used it for music (Ipod and Internet radio), e-mail, and facebook. I also downloaded a white noise app. that we have put in our baby''s stroller while we''re out and about! There are so many apps and I really haven''t had a chance to sit down with it, but so far it is pretty cool!

I love it! I''ve had mine since they first came out (maybe about 2 years ago) and it still works perfectly, I''m actually selling mine since I just got the iphone and don''t need it otherwise I''d still be a dedicated user.

I used it pretty much everyday I listened to music on it on the way to/from work, jogging, around the apartment. I used it for the WiFi at home when I''m lazy and don''t feel like starting my laptop, I also loved going online with it in other places that had WiFi, a lot of people love to use the apps but I''m not really into games and stuff so I never did.

Honestly though they''re still kind of pricey so maybe if you want one you should look on ebay a first generation like mine will go for about $100 instead of $200. My new iphone was actually cheaper than my itouch was when I bought it!

I was given mine as a Christmas gift from C, so that I could check my home email while at work (for wedding related emails while planning

). With that said, the Ipod Touch ONLY works where there are Wifi connections. It will not connect at all time like the Iphone.

I use it as a way to access my email thruout the day, and to play Sudoku when I am bored. I do not use it for music or movies, etc.

I would never have bought it for myself. It doesn't do enough for the price, IMO.

My wonderful DH bought me an Ipod Touch from the Apple Store on 5th Ave when we visited NYC in 2007. I took it everywhere with me and loved it to bits. Last year I decided to get an Iphone and it seemed a bit daft having both so I sold mine on Ebay and got 60% back on what we originally paid for it and that was for a 2 year old model.

I think they are fabulous and if you can get one, then go for it, you won''t regret it.

I have one that DH got me for Christmas last year. I like it, but he lOVES it.

We share...

I bought one for DH for his birthday - he LOVES it. He listens to podcasts, music, and mostly he plays games on the subway on his way to and from work. I think it''s fun to play with, but wouldn''t want one for myself - I just don''t think I would use it enough to justify the price.

I got one for Christmas and exchanged it for the click-wheel nano. I like it well enough except for when I was running and then it was a pain in the butt

I love mine! I was skeptical at first because Steve got it for me to replace a Classic that died, and really all I wanted was a Nano. I was a little peeved that he had spent so much more on the Touch.

Since then, however, I''ve grown to love it. Some evenings, I just want to check my email without turning on my computer, or I want to look something up on the internet while I''m watching TV. It''s great for that sort of thing.

I don''t have tons and tons of apps, mostly various news outlets and some shopping apps. Oh, and Card Shark solitaire. That''s my addiction!

I also use it a LOT when I''m traveling for work. I can check my email and keep connected (most of the hotels I stay in these days offer free wifi, and some airports do as well).

I already have a perfectly good cellphone and don''t want to pay for a data plan, so right now I prefer the Touch to the iPhone. There''s enough free wifi around these days that I''m rarely unable to use the internet when I want to. I do wish it had a camera, however.

I do also have a ton of music on mine, which is great for my subway commute.

Whoa! Good for her!

I have one but I only used it for a few months before moving to the iPhone. BF is now using mine. I liked it a lot - it''s a great iPod, and the only problem I had with it is that I didn''t have internet access all the time (which I do with the iPhone). But for trips, or just walking around, etc. it''s really great. I recommend it

I have an iPhone- which is almost the same thing ;) and I say go with the iPhone if you can swing it- that way you can use the 3g network if needed and not always the wifi.... I use my phone ALL OF THE TIME. apps, maps, media.. fb....

If you are always in an area with WiFi then I think the iPod Touch is a good deal- saves you $30 a month in data.

My dad loves his!!

I can't stand touch screens on phones, or phones that don't flip open, personally - you put it down in all sorts of places, get your grubby hands all over it, then put it on your ear & cheek and chin

.. maybe that's just me!

I opted for the Ipod Nano because I thought the Touch would be too big while exercising/running. I use my Ipod''s solely for music; I have a BBerry that has internet.

I''m sure you''ve done your research, but the Itouch is the Iphone minus the phone. If you currently have a phone w/o internet access, I can see the benefits.

Rarely use it.

If you only want it for music, I''d get something much cheaper. Like one of those $20 mp3 players.

It''s good for apps. Weather, games, all that. That''s the ''big deal'' in it for me. There''s an app and a game for every interest. If it weren''t for that, we wouldn''t have one. The games/apps are addicting (ok, some are lame, but plenty are fun).

It''s ok for internet, but since it only works near wi-fi, the house is the only place it''s used. And, it''s not so fun for long internet spans or typing, so I use a PC anyway.

So, for apps and games? Great. Internet? Ok. Music? Not very special. Video? Yeah, it''s fine for that. The battery life takes a toll when playing video, though. I''d prefer an iphone, so I''d always have it on me and likely use it more. But, I wouldn''t want one of those as my main phone. If you''re at home a lot, and don''t want to use the PC for games/internet/video, then it might be worth it. Otherwise, you might not use it much, unless you''re out waiting a lot (store lines? public transit? something?). I don''t use it even half as much as I expected.

UGH.. I just typed a nice long reply and PS rejected it... !!! This is the 5th time in 3 days this has happened!! So FRUSTRATING!!

Anyway, short and sweet version - I like it, it gets more use with the Bose 10 than anywhere else and my 2 yr old loves the movies and apps in long Dr. office waits/etc.

Loooove mine!!!! I am too cheap to pay for internet on my phone and I like to check my email and ebay at work sometimes and they track everything you do on there computers so I use that for personal stuff other wise it is just music for me, I use it inside when I am on the treadmill but when I go outside to walk or? I will use my nano just because I think the touch screen is not as durable. I also have pics on it so when someone asks about my grandson out comes the ipod!

I too would fight off a mugger to protect it because I love my Touch! I don''t want an iPhone because AT&T has rotten service coverage where we are, and the Touch gives me everything I do want about the iPhone without the expense or the hassle of dropped calls or no service areas. I use my Touch for music, my photos (including slide shows), apps of all kinds especially games, to check e-mail or get on the web when I''m not near my iMac, and it syncs calendars and contact lists with my iMac and vice versa so it''s always up to date. I''m amazed how many places have WiFi when we''re out, but we''re in a pretty "wired" city. I originally got it because I am a gadget kind of person, but I was surprised how much I did use it. The Touch is one of the most intuitive pieces of hardware I''ve ever come across.

I have an iphone which is basically an itouch with a phone lol And I LOVE it. I have dl several aps that teach or translate chinese and like one does the character strokes, one does phonetics, one focuses on reading characters, and one focuses on learning words. Not to mention I can''t go to bed without playing some scrabble or gin :) Plus Spin Art has to be one of the best aps for wasting time - good for any age, you can''t make just one lol

I love touch screens and I can''t wait to have an iPod touch. I have a perfectly good 8 GB iPod nano right now so it will be my next one.

My son has one and he loves it. We only have one PC in the house and I often use his ipod to browse the internet and post on FB and PS.

We have one b/c FI received one as a corporate gift. (I insisted he give it to his sister for xmas since we have three perfectly good ipods...but I lost this battle!) He takes it on the bus in the morning, I use pandora on it when I''m in the library to study, and also when I can''t sleep at night I''ll listen to This American Life.

I don''t think we would have bought one on our own accord, and personally, I prefer my blackberry for stuff like emails, etc.

I had a itouch for about a year and now i have an iphone. I think i use my iphone a bazzillion times more than i did the touch mainly becasuse of the internet.
It''s awesome and i love it, i spend 2 + solid hours a day using the ipod, looking on the internet (facebook, emails, pricescope) and using applications all at the same time when travelling on the train.

Our latest app is the sleep cycle, which maps your sleeping patterns for the night with a graph. Fi and i are emailing each other our graphs in the morning to see how we slept, its hilarious!!

The only thing i used the touch for was music, videos and a few apps. I would never bother getting on to the internet on it as the only place i could get the wifi is at home and i would just go on my laptop for that.

Im not too sure what the plans are like in the US, but i get one free gig a month, i really am on it constantly and i never get anywhere near using the gig.

::threadjack::

Internet Explorer has more bells and whistles for pricescope, but I use firefox now and if something doesn''t go through properly I can hit back and it''s all still there. I avoid IE as much as I can, though I do still have an icon on my desktop.

^ I used Safari and the back button also works for me.. It''s saved me about 10 lost posts in the last week- at least!
