The gold ink is not showing up well on the dark card

Here is the printers suggestion...comments?

I love the look! It''s really beautiful.

I like it, but I like the original one even better. How dark is the gold ink, really? Can you read it from 20 inches away?

I didn''t see the original before I posted. I do like the original one better. But for guests that have never seen the two to compare them like you have, both will look great.

I think the original is absolutely gorgeous!!!

best photo i could do....

OMG GOODNESS HUGE!! sorry

That''s a tough one. I think both options are still doable. Granted, the gold ink isn''t as bright or shiny as your mock-up, and the white behind does loose a "bit" of the dramatic effect, but both are still great and I would be impressed to receive either. But after seeing the mock up, I feel as though with either you''ll be settling...are there ANY other options to achieve the original look?

I love both, but if I had to choose just one, I''d go with the original one.

Maybe a thicker/bolder font? Or do you have a 3rd color in your color scheme to replace the font or the white background? Or maybe a lighter colored or less textured paper?

If you can't make any above changes I'd still go with the original. I think the white background detracts from the elegance of the card =/.

If I wanted shiny gold I''d have to leaf it apparently, anyone know where I can get this done or sent too?

So sorry that it isn't working out. I know you were stressed about it. Have no idea about the leafing.. will try to find something out. I know nothing about printing, but could the printer change his ink to a brighter gold?

IWPO,

I don''t have any suggestions, just wanted you to know there''s an address clearly showing in your first post. You may want to edit, or have Andrey do so.

Hmmmm. What about white ink for the lettering, gold for the grape stamp (& ribbon). It seems like the nubby texture of the card isn''t helping either though.

I''m not a color guru, but what if they left the gold border, but the actual lettering in the same color as the card? It seems like it would pop better, but then again, I don''t know if that was the look you were going for. Maybe it wouldn''t seem formal enough.

Hmmm, I will ask my co-worker who just graduated and got her BA from a special graphics design school. She specialized in print media and did her own invites. Maybe she will have some suggestions.

I agree with miracle... I think you should do the first one, but with a pretty PLUM color that maybe has some metallics in it for the font color??? I think that would look really pretty...Or if they make a gold colored part (thats the white part in the original...) and then do the PLUM color font on the gold card..

i think it looks fine. it''s legible.

gold leaf: what about stamping them and embossing them with gold colored dust? very easy to do.

I think it looks good--I can read it fine and think it looks nicer with the gold directly on the wine/burgundy than it would on a white background. Maybe, if you don''t want to stick with the original, you could do an old parchment-style background behind the text (does that make sense?), instead of the plain white, and do wine/burgundy lettering (and keep everything else the same)?

We are going to try silver to see if it is brighter.

We printed in silver and it''s is awesome!

Doesn''t go along with the gold things for the wedding, but that''s fine...I don''t think my invite will be sitting at the wedding.

LOL, love the emotie...

How''s the wedding planing coming Stephanie?

It''s taking over my life!

Okay, that was a bit Wisteria Lane. Everything''s done except for the men''s attire, bm''s ordering their dresses, and the officiant. I still have about a million and a half projects that I am doing... perhaps I should start a DIY thread. Doing the invites, programs, luminaries, paper pomanders, escort cards.. But this weekend, we are taking a long awaited trip to Charleston and I couldn''t be happier!

And you? Are we close to double digits yet?

86 days! AHHHHHHHHHHH

I have a lot to do, finish invites, RSVP, Directions, order BM dress, make flower girl dress, buy rings, corral the Groom and get him focused on outfits, registar....

PANIC ATTACK!!!! haha

I''m pretty laid back. I know it won''t be perfect so why punish myself! lol

Make flower girl dress? Hello massive undertaking. I wouldn''t have that type of patience, so I commend you!

Registering is so much easier online so don''t worry about having to get to a store (unless you have to.) Is the same printer doing the inserts or are you? Rings, dresses and attire are going to be your get them done now things, I think.

I''m very much OCD, but I''ve been laid back about this wedding. I''m sure it''s going to blow up one day and I will have a dear diary post that will take hours to read. You''re pushing yourself because it''s your wedding and there is just so much pressure to get it perfect. But hey, it''s cool!

I just want everyone to have a blast, beyond that...so what!

I am sure there will be some disapointments but at the end of the day I am marrying my dream boy, my bestfriend!

I feel the same way - yes, we are getting married and I am very excited about that, but I want for everyone to celebrate. No focusing on the cake, flowers, attire wrongs just on the party! I''ve told my mother that there is not to be one ounce of drama (because everything with my family is drama and also because I have invited my biological mother - which is a whole other story). They can hold it all in for the measly four and a half hours. Just have some fun!

Oh, yes, it's a bit odd.

I am so going to tell my d.o.c. (which is my friend) to tell everyone that! Love it!

We've seem to have taken over this thread... Oops...
