So I came across this invite, LOVE the color and the design, but I''m not so sure how I feel about the off center lettering. Can anyone photoshop (quickly/easily) how it would look with more centered lettering?

I think it would be more formal, which I want, but not sure if it would look weird with the design.

Thanks in advance!

This is a super rough attempt, but hopefully gives you an idea

I kinda dig the off center writing.

I think its really unique and classy. I dont think that it looks informal at all. If you''re not comfortable with it though I would go for centered. I''d hate for this sort of thing to be weighing on you when there are other things to worry about.

ooooh pretty!

What do you guys think? is the part on the bottom left weird now?

I didn''t notice it before but I would say yes... BUT I think if you do centered text but keep it left and right justified (like a newspaper column or magazine article) it will match the stuff on the bottom just fine. I think thats actually what I liked about the original so much- not necessarily the off center text.

This is what I was talking about... Pardon by photo editing skills. I dont have photoshop but I think it gives you the idea.

ETA: Where did you find these invites? Can you supply a link please? Theyre lovely.

I think it would look great if all of the text was centered. That text in the lower left-hand corner does look odd to me.

You asked about formality--this us an informal invitation. Formal invites don''t have large designs, they are typically pretty simple with maybe a family crest or small design in one spot on the invite. But these invites are beautiful, no doubt about that!

www.sweetpenelope.com They are a design site - they will either sell you the digital files (for like $50) in the colors/design/font you want, or they will print for you.

I think we might go with them and do letterpress, since they only do flat.

How informal would you say they are? We''re not doing black tie or anything...

i think it''s right in the middle. not formal but not casual either. it''s "cocktail attire" level :) i love them. i like what clairetek did with the text.

i like misspinky''s version. the type is way too wonky in the other version. there''s way to much space between the words. forced justification that just isn''t done right.

Exactly--they''re about right in the middle formality-wise. I really like them, and they will look FABULOUS in a frame!

Thanks, everyone.

Any other suggestions?

I agree, forced justified in small columns is VERY hard to read. It''s because the spacing is so varied so you start to see rivers of white (spacing). I do like the leading on the names though. But it does make it more modern (which is my style) vs. traditional.

Cute invites, Rockzilla! I'm with Jcrow and Tacori on this one - I like the text centered and not justified.

I think that I like Misspinky''s version best, but I don''t tend to like very modern styles of text, which this has IMO. As for the text in the lower left, could you just leave that off and use a reception card? Or maybe that would leave that space too white and empty?

I agree, this invite is not "formal", but not informal either. I think it look great off centered if you plan to have text in the lower left, but if you remove that, I will be find centered.

I wanted to clarify that forced justification is my favorite and I think very elegant but like Jcrow said this wasn''t done right. You need to figure out your wording (so you know the number of words you are working with) and then play with the layout.

Oops, sorry Tacori, my bad! Thanks for clarifying

Rockzilla, I still like Misspinky''s version best.
