I am DIYing our invites, and am trying to decide on some wording.

This mostly concerns the parent''s names. I know that the traditional format is:

Mr. and Mrs. Sam Jones
and
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith

But I do not like how the women are swallowed up! Why do our first names have to disappear when we get married? This is something I am struggling with in the whole change your name thing, too. So, I thought of doing this instead:

Mr. and Mrs. Sam and Sandra Jones
and
Mr. and Mrs. Joe and Janice Smith

Is this too weird? Do you have any other recommendations?

I understand the resentment of the woman''s first name not being on there, but I have to say, I just don''t like Mr. and Mrs. Sam and Sandra Jones. I would do Mrs. Sandra and Mr. Sam Jones before that. Or Sandra and Sam Jones. Or the parents of (bride''s name). Or I''d just leave the parents name off and do what I did...together with their families (bride) and (groom) request....blah blah blah.
