Hi everyone! I''m new to these forums and introducing myself. My fiance and I are law students living in DC, and getting married on September 12, 2009 in my hometown of Little Rock, Arkansas. I look forward to joining the conversation!

that''s my wedding day, too!

welcome fellow wedding day PSer. and hope to write a lot with you over the next year.

we are actually getting married on the 1st of September in town hall (just signing the papers) but the ceremony with friends and family will be on the 12th, so we''ll use that as our anniversary.

My date is 9-19-09. So far I have:

-- Finalized the guest list and sent out save the dates (destination wedding)
-- Determined the budget
-- Reserved the ceremony site and venue and placed deposits (books up more than a year in advance)
-- Obtained required permit for wedding (Yosemite Nat''l Park)
-- Hired a photographer
-- Bought my dress, shoes and veil
-- Researched florists and make-up artists (online)
-- Chosen my colors
-- Have my sister (MOH) working on floral decorations for the chapel

I''m pretty ready to have this wedding! I can''t believe it is still more than a year away.

Wow, marchswallowbird! You''ve gotten a lot done! As I recall, we have similar taste in dresses; maybe you can plan the rest of my wedding for me.

My date is 11 Oct 2009. So far I have:

- set a date (duh)
- declared that we''re going to Vegas (but we did that years ago)
- bought a dress

That''s it. Right now, I''m sketching out event plans at different budget levels so that my FI and I and his mother (who I hope will be contributing, since she''s the one who won''t let us elope

) can sit down and make a concrete budget.
