It happened long ago but I never forgot.

I lost my first diamond ring and it was insure by the seller.

I fill a claim and next week, the seller call me to tell my ring is ready to pick.

When I arrived to the store, the person open the package and I see my new ring (exactly the same) + the big big wedding band who was made to fit the ering! It was a 7mm 18k yellow gold wedding band. Splendid!

What would you have done?

1- Tell the person I never bought the wedding band and lost it

2- Close your mouth and keep the beauty

3- Try to offer a low price for the wedding band

4- Anything else....

I would consider a few things
I would want to believe they are sold as a set
I would think the insurance covered it so any issue or discussion would be with insurer if with anyone,
and I would be very very reluctant so mention it to insurer because it would become very complex to them to process paperwork to remedy situation and still get you the ring. In this case I would smile and be quiet and consider the band to be some compensations from the universe for your troubles having lost the ring in first place

Tell the truth and feel good every time you look down at the ring you paid for originally.
