I wanted to share this story, it''s been in the news here lately.
Basically, there were some race riots here in 2005, a group of friends in the wrong place at the wrong time got caught up in the violence. They were pursued by a gang of knife wielding things, who were yelling threats to gang rape the girls. One of the men in the group of friends made the decision that the only way to give the girls a chance to get away was to stop and face their pursuers, even though he was unarmed and very outnumbered.
He was badly injured, but managed to ask the lucky girl out while she was accompanying him to hospital in the ambulance.
A very inspiring story with a happy ending.
