Impatiently Waiting.....

Aaarggh! Why did I get a custom made ring? I'm really excited about it and the guys at David S are super awesome but I want to seeee!! I want to see what it looks like and I want to change my facebook status to ENGAGED!

On the plus side, the jeweler's going to send my SO a wax model of it. So, maybe i'll get to sneak a peak.

My SO says I'm no longer involved in this process so sit back and we'll be engaged before October. BUT October's too looong from now!

the hurry up dust won''t work as we are waiting on the ring.... Hehe. We would have gotten engaged sooner, but I decided to "help" find a ring more in our price budget Now I just sit and wait for that fedex man... I work from home, so this is not that bad.

On the plus side, I get to continue drooling over other people''s rings and am very excited about the upcoming proposals of everyone else.

I so feel you lily. My SO and I had a ring ordered, not custom designed but with custom color diamonds to match my center stone, and it has taken FOREVER to arrive. I KNOW that it is finally in and am hoping that he won''t be waiting much longer to make his move - but the wait is killing me. I hope your wait goes by quickly, and that the wax satisfies some of your desire to see the finished product.

Thanks, sweetie! I know how you feel!!! When I saw THE ring, I started hyperventilating (yup...I''m a dork!) and I knew it was what I wanted. The designer for my ring is Henri Daussi and the specific ring I saw was not only a Daussi setting, but a Daussi diamond as well. When my FI started looking at rings after that eventful browsing trip we had discussed the cut of the diamond but I didn''t know at the time there was a difference between a cushion vs a Daussi cushion. This was all prePS. I kinda knew that the proposal was coming and I knew that there was a very good chance he got me a cushion diamond (setting was still a surprise) and I was soo afraid that I wouldn''t love the ring cause it wasn''t quite THE ring. I had only seen THE ring 2x and that was the week of Thanksgiving 08. I kept looking at it online though. I wouldn''t go into the BM store since I was afraid to get my hopes up just in case FI didn''t get it for me. Anyways, he finally proposed May 09 and you know what? All my fears and insecurities were for naught. I love it just as much as when I saw it at the BM store....except...I actually loved it more. It wasn''t quite THE ring I saw when I first hyperventilated, but it was THE PERFECT ring for me. It was the Daussi setting (which was my pick) and the cushion diamond he picked to symbolize his love and our future together. He got me a D color and a VS2 clarity and a full carat. I really wanted the full carat because it''s a mental thing for me. He picked the D color for rarity and the VS2 because he wanted to make sure no one could see inclusions without a loupe. Because of all that effort and research and everything else he did to make sure he got me everything I could possibly want and more, it didn''t matter that it wasn''t the exact ring I fell for. I love our ring even more and it''s that much more special to me since my wonderful FI got it with love.

Wow....didn''t realize this was kinda long and I kinda spilled my guts...I know you''re gonna love your ring. I can''t want to see pictures, purelily. If you don''t mind me saying this, I really like all the people in PS but I feel like you''re a friend. I didn''t get to go through LIW in PS but it''s nice to know I''m kinda living vicariously through you and the rest of the ladies.

Good luck on the wait and trust me, I send you dust every day that this is the day every day.

exactly what i was going to say. October does seem like it''s far away, but think of it as the last 4 weeks you get to be a girlfriend since you''ll never be called that again.

i know it''s easier said than done, but i constantly remind myself to just relish this time period before the next step of your life begins. it usually helps whenever i have a bout of LIW-itis, but i still get impatient every now and then.

anyway, i''m so excited for you and i can''t wait to see how the ring turns out!

I totally feel you I need to remind myself about this when liw-itis strikes. Part of me also thinks... OMG! I''m going to be engaged soon! Am I ready? For a family, to share my life, expenses, my dog?! Then, reality kicks in. We already do this. So back to liw-itis

Although I dont really like being *just* a gf, sometimes it is fun to tease my SO that ooh we''re not engaged yet I don''t have to do the laundry if I don''t want to!

Shhhh... Wax Model! from david S diamonds (they're SUPER NICE! I really enjoyed working with them) My ring is going to be hand fabricated.
